Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hickory

Theresa the co-host went out of her way to maintain communication with me. At any point I wanted to give her updates or ask any questions she was only a phone call away. I felt super welcomed and safe. She stocked the house with all of your basic food needs. There was a surplus of kitchen supplies to make a home cooked meal. Parking at the well and hiking up to the cabin with my belongings was quite a challenge It's about 65 steps. Once up there I took full advantage of the Hottub. I recommend to any guests to bring their own hammock to enjoy swinging in the front porch and listening to the creek. I recommend wearing hiking shoes to go up to the cabin. I absolutely recommend getting to the cabin way before dark, and if unable bring your own headlamps and flashlights. Be hyper prepared if you've never been into isolated wilderness like that. Phenomenal place to stay!! More than we expected. If looking for a getaway and do some skiing this is the place to stay. Nancy was so helpful and always checked in on us to make sure we were good. If staying in the winter months for some skiing, definitely make sure you are in a 4WD.

This little cabin was in a gorgeous location! Right next to the snow tubing and not far from grandfather mountain! The views from the hot tub were amazing! Brought our two dogs and they loved it! The patio with the hot tub was fenced in so the dogs were able to hang with us while we were relaxing in the hot tub! Definitely would recommend and plan to come back!

Will was a great host and very responsive. His home was beautiful, had great amenities and most importantly clean and taken care of! Most will need 4x4 to get up and down the driveway especially it has snowed or is icy.

Kids loved the hot tub and air hockey!!! Great place...front porch to relax as well as the back porch. we spent alot of time looking at the fireplace and just relaxing....sooooo Many Deer to keep us enentertained!! highly recommend

This was, by far, the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever had. I’m talking not a speck of dust - not even in the corners of the basement bathroom, folks! We booked Janice’s place last minute from a hotel after finding our original rental was inaccessible. She was gracious enough to allow early check in and welcomed our dogs without exorbitant fees. The location is quiet and peaceful yet central to everything. Beds were comfortable (dog bed included 🥰) and everything was simple & smooth, which meant a lot after the debacle we’d been through. Janice is a host who has gone the extra mile. Her place is incredibly well maintained and you’ll want for nothing. If you are looking for a rental where you can truly relax, this is the one. I only wish we’d booked this as our original choice so we could’ve enjoyed it longer. Would stay here again and again, 5 stars doesn’t begin to do it justice 💛

Our stay at Anne's house was simply amazing. She is the perfect host, always responsive, helpful, accommodating whenever possible, willing to answer questions, and the home itself was absolutely perfect! Every single person in our group returned raving about the house and how perfect it was for our weekend of skiing.

Our group of 4 friends had an amazing time at Laurelwood for our rock climbing weekend! We made great use of all the amenities (well-equipped kitchen, cozy fireplace, front porch swing, outdoor hot tub) and appreciated the thoughtful details (smores kit, thorough handbook, plenty of throw pillows and blankets) that made this place comfortable and feel like home. The drive into town and to our events was scenic and pleasant. Note that there is an unpaved road and steep driveway up to the house (not a problem for us during our summer visit). Diane was very communicative and helpful with any questions that we had. Unfortunately, we spent so much time exploring the area's activities and sights that we didn't have enough time to play any of the provided board games, ping pong, or video games! We would definitely consider this location again if our travels took us back to the Boone area.

We booked this place on a whim without realizing what was in store for us! We were greeted by their spider monkey who was within the safari grounds making sweets sounds and showing off her swinging skills, camels walking the grounds along with 2 adorable twin baby sheeps, loads of sheeps, goats, capybaras, zebras, silver foxes, bunnies in the background along with chickens, geese, ducks and guinea fowl. Too many to name! Please visit the actual safarigrounds, not just the Airbnb where they do tours, I highly suggest the kit and caboodle - it's worth every bit! The space was clean and cozy, we could not hear the animals at night or in the AM with the sound machine running that is provided in each room. Everything was amazing and something I will cherish experiencing with my children.

The cabin was just as pictured and was the perfect location for visiting Banner Elk and Boone. We had a very relaxing weekend with our pups. The laundry room had a large crate and linens for the dogs. The laundry area was huge and was roomy enough for our second dog. Ha ha....she is a chihuahua. The cabin was easy to locate and was perfect for us. The weather was not in our favor but the fireplace kept us cozy. You can't go wrong renting this place if you are in the Banner Elk area. Great Value. Would definitely stay again.

The Coliseum Cottage was the perfect stay for a quick trip to Charlotte! The home was very welcoming, in a quiet neighborhood, and perfect for attending a show at Ovens Auditorium. Not only was the home spacious, but it had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The binder full of helpful information about the property and local area was a wonderful touch as well. I would 100% book this home again for a trip to Charlotte.

We had a very nice last-minute stay here. Diane is a very responsive host. The location is great, and even though there is no full kitchen( which we were aware of), we made it work. The hot plate, convection oven, and full fridge worked out fine for us for a few days. We spent the days fishing off the pier, kayaking, and just being outside. There are board games, beach toys, kayaks, a cooler, chairs, and a fire pit to enjoy. The beds were a little too firm for our liking and a little noisy when you moved around, but they did not take away from our overall stay. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning views. We had everything we needed to stay cozy when the winter storm came. The location is fabulous and very easy to get to the local restaurants. The condo was super clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the shuffleboard table while watching the snow fall.

My pups and I had a great time. Comfortable bed and the shower pressure was amazing! Very quiet. Hope to book here again!

What a great place! Also the host was very kind and great communication! Very nice place and only 10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Wonderful amenities including pool, hot tub, sauna, library, shop, workout room etc etc. Only (potential) issue which is no fault of the owners is that this is a large 10 story condo complex. On busy days, especially around the weekend it can get very busy during check in and check out and you have to park outside of the guard shack and get shuttled back to the condo. Again, we didn’t really have much of a hang up but others did-just something to keep in mind. Fantastic place, and well equipped! Thank you again!

Great place to stay in downtown charlotte. Walking distance to many restaurants and lots of things to do. Apartment was very clean and nice inside. Looks exactly like the photos. Would def stay again and would recommend to anyone.
