Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hampden County

We had a lovely, relaxing getaway. The home, river, trees, and hot tub are beautiful and soothing to the body, mind, and soul. Patrick and Fiona did a great job of communicating to make sure everything went smoothly. Very happy with our experience.

We felt like we were in a historic charming New England home, with all of the amenities of a modern resort. Outside, you can relax on the deck, watch birds and butterflies in the wildflowers and the little frogs in the lily pond. If it rains, there's a screened in porch for eating and lounging. Judith even left us apples to feed the three horses up the hill in the pasture. The house is in a beautiful rural neighborhood and there's Atkins Farm nearby that supplied us with everything we needed for a little pre-wedding breakfast - including great sandwiches and apple cider donuts. There were a lot of sleeping options for guests and the house was spotlessly clean. It was so convenient for a familty gathering and for our daughter's wedding at the Red Barn at Hampshire College. Judith took the time to answer our questions by text and phone before we arrived and she left us a long, detailed instruction letter. We look forward to another stay in the near future. Escape to the Bershires is a true gem. We fell in love with the house and the location. The house is very spacious, we enjoyed the living room with the excellent entertainment center, the 2 other gathering rooms were great for private conversations. Each bedroom was comfortable and nicely decorated. The kitchen is large and well stocked with everything you would need to make your gourmet meals. I have been renting from Airbnb for 8 yrs and this home is by far our favorite. We will return.

We had a great time in Northampton and enjoyed the convenient location of the apartment. The space is comfortable, cozy, and clean with attractive decor. The neighborhood is safe and walkable, with a variety of fantastic options for dining and shopping nearby. Some of our favorite spots include Hungry Ghost Bakery, Iconica, Thorne’s Marketplace, and Smith Museum of Art. We recommend The Roost for coffee & breakfast - the savory waffle is delicious!

This home is just as cozy as it looks! We enjoyed the quiet comfort the home brings- plenty of sitting space, fireplace, extra sitting room, and well stocked kitchen supplies! Close enough to towns for cute shopping, but recommend getting groceries on the way in so you don’t have to leave! 10/10 stay and the host was so nice.

We loved our stay at Carol and Robin's! Its a cute little place with literally everything you need for a comfortable stay. This includes some lovely breakfast treats and, in season, a fire laid in the fireplace just ready for a match. As noted it is on the 3rd floor so if navigating steep and narrow steps is a challenge for you this might not be your place. Otherwise, we recommend Crow's Nest, and would love to return on a future visit to Northampton.

We just got back from six nights and had a wonderful stay! The house was as described and very clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and dishwasher. We went with three 13 yr olds and they had a blast. The lake was good for swimming and paddling. I specifically wanted a lake that wasn’t so big the kids might paddle out and then not be able to paddle back, this was the perfect size. We all agreed the covered porch was our favorite spot, perfect for games and reading. It was a very restful stay and hope to be back next year!

Our fourth time staying and it was perfect. Eric’s home is well stocked and perfect for family meals and fun. We love to sit around the warm stove to share stories or sit at the big farm table to play games. Thank you Eric!

Super easy check-in and check-out process, lovely space in the middle of downtown. Situated right next to a great used bookstore, too!

Super spacious apartment, especially appreciated the large kitchen/ dining area and big couches in the living room. And comfy beds. We hope to stay here again.

Sue’s place was perfect! Great location close to everything in town (walkable!), comfortable and clean accommodations, super easy from start to finish. Slept well, stayed warm in the chilly outside temps, and enjoyed the restaurants, shopping, the botanical gardens at Smith College, and ambiance Northampton has to offer. Would love to come visit again in the summer to enjoy the pool! Thank you !

This is my favorite airbnb that I’ve ever stayed in. The hosts are local and immediately addressed a safety concern I had about my toddlers. The place is perfect with everything you need, including a washer and dryer. So easy to get downtown and a welcome book with tons of local recommendations. I can’t wait to book it again.

We had a great stay in Northampton -- we had a multi-generational family trip, and it was great to have the whole house to ourselves while having separate bathroom and kitchen areas for everyone. A quick walk to Northampton's downtown restaurants.
