I first came to Costa Rica on a polynesian catamaran in 1974. Explored the coast for a year before sailing on to the South Pacific.
I returned in 1999 with my kids and wife so they could experience the great surf, warm water, and friendly people.
We fell in love with the area near Playa Avellanas and bought a hill overlooking Hacienda Pinilla.
The Treehouse is the first home we built and fufills my childhood dream of living like the Swiss Family Robinson -except with modern amenities ;-)
