The guest area and the host’s private quarters are separated by the entrance, ensuring your privacy and comfort during your stay.

【Firewood Bath】
The traditional firewood-heated bath is available as an optional experience for ¥5,000 per group per day.
During the day, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Central Alps, and at night, the glittering city lights and starry sky are all yours.
Wrapped in the scent of cypress, the bath warms you from the core—an experience not to be missed.
• Hours: From when the bath is ready until 23:00
• You may decide on the day whether to use it, but please let us know by 6:00 p.m.
• It takes about 1 hour to fill with water and 1–1.5 hours to heat with firewood.

For larger groups, this room can also serve as a semi-bedroom, with futons for 2–4 people.

Guest access
・Main House
All areas to the right side of the entrance belong to the guest space.
The left side is the host’s private living area.

・Bath Hut
Guests who choose the optional wood-fired bath may use this area.
We will explain how to use it beforehand — please make sure everyone in your group understands the instructions before bathing.

・Nagaya Gate
This area is currently off-limits.
In the future, we plan to renovate the storehouse inside the gate into a sub-living space for guests.

・Cattle Barn (Ushigoya)
This building is also not accessible to guests.
(There are no cows anymore!)

・Garden, Field, and Mountain Area
You are welcome to wander and explore freely.
Firewood is available for purchase, but you are also welcome to bring your own.
You may also collect small branches or cedar leaves from the mountain to use as kindling.

During your stay
As we live under the same roof, please feel free to call us anytime if you need assistance.
You’ll find a call button for the host on the black pillar near the entrance side of the living room.

We’re also happy to share information about the local area or talk about life in the countryside if you’re curious about moving here.
Please don’t hesitate to ask—we’d love to chat.

For the “Cooking with the Host” dinner course, we will enjoy the meal together.
If you choose another option such as the pizza set or BBQ set, but would still like to share the meal and conversation together, please let us know in advance.

Our cat, Atsuage, often spends time under the veranda or in the courtyard.
He’s a bit shy and tends to run away, but sometimes he lets you pet him.
He loves playing with strings or grass stems, so you might be able to befriend him with a little patience and play.

Other things to note
Notes for Guests

・Insects and Wildlife
As the property is located close to the mountains, you may occasionally encounter insects or small wildlife.
If you are uncomfortable even seeing them, we kindly recommend reconsidering your stay.

・Housekeeping
Regular cleaning service is not provided during your stay.
(Only the open-air bath will be cleaned and prepared for you each day.)

・Laundry
There is a washing machine, dryer, and clothes-drying rack. The detergent is automatically dispensed, so you don’t need to bring your own.
For guests staying multiple nights, if you need to wash towels or linens, please use these facilities.

・Guests with Children
Families with children are very welcome.
However, please note that some areas may not be fully childproof — for example, there are no safety fences around the stove, no doors on the dish cabinet, and several paper sliding doors (shōji) that can be easily damaged.
We kindly ask that you take extra care if you are staying with small children.

We are gradually adding more amenities for guests with children.
If you have any specific needs or would like to confirm what is available, please contact us in advance.

Used diapers can be placed in a plastic bag and disposed of in the trash bin.
A waterproof sheet is also available upon request to help prevent bedwetting accidents.

This is Yugiri no Aizawa, an old private house in Satoyama. We were worried about how to live our lives, so we quit our jobs to travel around the world in 2020, but we gave up due to the coronavirus. I was worried about what to do, but my husband and I, who were unemployed, moved to Nagano, which was our dream. Two days after I started living here, I was fascinated by the kindness of the people I met, the rich nature, and the vegetables placed in front of the entrance, and I wanted to live in Nagano and make a "nariwai". I decided to run an inn because I had memorable interactions and experiences at inns I visited in Japan and abroad. After two and a half years of searching for a property, I was introduced to this property. At first, it was an old-fashioned old house with rugged mountains and fields, but I wanted to create a place where people and living things could enjoy themselves, so I made it with my friends. We are thinking about the Asobi no Mori plan, raising goats, etc., so that you can enjoy it even more.
