Custom designed and built, based on designs by Frank Lloyd Wright, my father, a professional musician, found this peaceful, private place on the water later in life, and loved it. Over the years, my kids, and I spent time here; making music, catching crabs, fishing, kayaking, and exploring nature.
Our fondness for this spot on the creek grew and grew. In January 2024 we embarked on a journey of renovations, working to establish a retreat for our families, and yours! In furnishing the home, we tried to celebrate Frank Lloyd Wright and mid-century modern design, while providing comfortable, contemporary, Creekside-appropriate, and more accessible amenities.
Amazing waterfront, surrounded by majestic trees and endless views of quiet, Occhahanock creek. Local architect, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright masterpieces across the country, created the home to feel like a boat. Experience being in nature and on the water.

Private, on over 1.5 acres, with a feeling of untouched, Eastern Shore beauty. Huge front yard sets the home back from the lane, in an established community of homeowners.
A couple of quick notes:
8 guests included - $10 per additional guest, per night - up to 12 guests.
Guests with children: there is extensive, unrestricted access to the water. Stairs outside. An elevated patio. Children must be supervised by an adult at their side at all times.
Our home is not child proofed or set up to be suitable for young children. Thank you so much for your understanding, we will work to make it more child friendly over the next year.

Completely renovated with wheelchair accessible en suite bathroom and sliding door to patio. Unbelievably comfortable Casper king bed with lux upholstered bed frame. Dressing table/vanity. Walk-in closet. Spa like bathroom with multiple shower jets, Riverstone tile, double vanity, and two LED lighted mirrors. Water views. Private patio.

Please inquire if you would like to bring a larger boat. Boats with larger center consuls can be moored on the other side of Shield’s Bridge at one of two close by wharfs.

Games and Puzzles: Poetry for Neanderthals, and you’ve got crabs are two of our family’s favorite games. I hope you enjoy them! There are also a couple of puzzles and other assorted games. Books : enjoy the collection about Frank Lloyd Wright, the Eastern shore, and other material. An assortment of outdoor games and fun things to do can be found on the shelves inside the laundry room or on the patio.

Quiet Hours 10pm - 6am. Kindly keep the noise level appropriate for a family neighborhood of homeowners at all times. We love to host fun, lively gatherings of friends and families - loud, wild parties are not appropriate.
Pets - Only hypoallergenic breeds are allowed at this time. Dogs must be approved by us in advance of your stay. Additional fee per stay. Must agree to follow house rules for canine companions :-)
Happy to answer questions and help you plan your getaway to the special place on the Eastern Shore. If you are interested in a longer term rental, please let us know. Three months to six months may be available.

The entire property is all yours! More than an acre of forest, creekfront spaces, patios, dock, sandy yard, and spacious home. It is a true retreat- yet, just minutes from US 13, conveniently located between Chincoteague and Cape Charles.
There is a Store room and cabinets that are for owner use only.
Other things to note
This is a rustic, natural setting. You will be surrounded by tall, mature trees, and beautiful birdsong. Your home is set back from the quiet lane and insulated by nature on all four sides. You may see occasional insects in the house, such as a moth or a small spider. This is part of the Eastern shore experience that is pretty impossible to eliminate from the beauty and peace you will enjoy.🤗
Cautions for those traveling with children:
Constant, close supervision of children is required. Children may not be outside the home without a responsible adult at their side.
With over 100 feet of water front, this home may not be suited for some children due to open access to the water.
The patio extends over the ground towards the water, and no one should be allowed to sit or climb on the surrounding wall.
Accessibility notes:
Stairs and uneven ground between patio and dock..There are two steps from the living spaces to the patio. There is a short stairway from the patio to the ground level adjacent to the water. Sand and pebbles on the ground between the patio stairway and stairway to the dock.
Recent renovations include accessible, master suite just beyond the living room. The front door, however, is 31 inches wide. While we plan to change this, it is difficult to do it because of the custom built design of the home.
There is a detour to get to the home from the highway. A bridge is being rebuilt that are part of the creek with the part that goes out to the bay. Construction just began in January 2025 and will be complete within a year or two.
