We've renovated one of our vintage grain bins into a light-filled cabin on the prairie.
One mile from the Turkey River, enjoy fishing or floating. Shop boutiques and local art in nearby Elkader. Stop at the famous St Olaf Tavern. Or just relax and soak in the quiet.

The space
Our renovated grain bin is a loft-style glamping retreat!
This 1BR/1BA tiny home features a living space with floor to ceiling windows, a Kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and coffee (it is not a full kitchen - there is no stove or oven), and bathroom all on the first level.
The queen bed is located upstairs in the loft. A desk and chairs are also located upstairs for a quiet place to work. (The stairs are a bit narrow, guests must be comfortable with stairs.)
There is a pullout twin ottoman in the living area that is surprisingly comfy and extra linens are provided if requesting a third guest.
There are reading materials, magazines, board games, a bonfire pit (we provide some firewood), swing, and a wireless speaker for your entertainment. There is no TV, but there is high speed Wi-Fi if you'd like to bring your own devices.
There are local trails nearby and a mowed path in our prairie. Sometimes our trail is not accessible as it may be grazed periodically. Happy to give hiking recommendations!
Guest access
Guests may pull in and park in the gravel circle in front of the white barn. Our renovated grain bin sits privately to the back left of the white barn.
Self check-in available after 3PM with keypad lock. We will send you a code just before your stay.
Guests may use the bonfire pit, unless it is windy
Guests may hike the prairie trail, but must wear shoes, stay on the trail, and hike at your own risk

Staying in the Grain Bin is an experience! You're surrounded by nature and with that comes the sights and sounds of wildlife and rain on the tin roof.
There is no tv, but reading materials, board games, and outdoor explorations are sure to leave you feeling relaxed and connected! There is high speed wi-fi if you want to bring your own devices.
The kitchenette does not have a stove or oven. It does have a toaster, microwave and mini fridge/freezer, coffee, glasses, dishes, silverware, and paper products.
LOCATION: Wold Farm is a very rural location central to several quaint small towns in northeast Iowa. When I first visited from my home state of NC I was surprised by the amount of gravel roads and how small the towns really were! Stores, restaurants and bars close a little earlier in small towns, boutiques are eclectic and run by locals not chains (there is a dollar general). There is a movie cinema with the most comfy reclining seats, a family owned grocery store, and famous bakery! There are ZERO stop lights in our entire COUNTY! The people are friendly, and take their time to stop, chat, and wave hello! Living, working, and visiting around Elkader feels like you've stepped inside a Hallmark movie!
