The space
Nature lovers -- welcome! Grafton is a refreshingly 'off-the-beaten-path' area in the western NH countryside (just south of the White Mountains) where you'll be able to experience the *real New Hampshire* without traffic or tourists.

A mile down our dirt road, past the neighborhood pond, tucked back down our long driveway... you'll arrive at our little cabin nestled on 1.3 wooded acres; offering ultimate peace & privacy.

For those looking for a restful retreat, quiet evenings around a fire, yard space & woods to play or lounge, and a hidden pond/beach for swimming/paddling/picnics -- you've discovered it!

We even have perennial flower gardens, so you can enjoy seasonal blooms and watch the bumblebees & butterflies busy at work.

Our shed houses outdoor furniture, a bocce ball set, a picnic blanket, & a cooler for your day trips.

Within 15 mins you can check out quite a few quaint local spots & activities, and within a 30 min drive you'll find a great selection of restaurants, hiking, skiing, and fun day trips -- see the 'neighborhood' section for more detailed information.

ENTRY:

You'll enter through the side door into an area with coat hooks, a place for your shoes, and a basket for your dog's leashes, hats & mittens, etc.

BATHROOM:

Off to the left is the bathroom; which includes a full-sized shower/tub, on-demand hot water, and great water pressure. A stacking washer/dryer is also available for guests to use.

KITCHEN & DINING:

The roomy kitchen has plenty of empty cabinets for your groceries & lots of counter space for cooking -- and is fully outfitted with newer appliances, dishes, glassware, silverware, pots & pans, cooking utensils, & kitchen gadgets ranging from a cocktail shaker to a lemon squeezer to a cheese grater.

We have a regular 12-cup coffee maker, a pourover coffee maker, and a Krups coffee grinder.

And YES we have a dishwasher!

Dining options include 2 counter seats at the kitchen island, and a dining table that seats 4.

LIVING ROOM:

The living room has a couch & smart TV in one area, and 2 arm chairs facing the fireplace in the other corner. We have plenty of throw pillows & blankets to cozy up with. The large bay window overlooks the side yard -- dogs LOVE this spot!

The comfy Lazy-Boy couch unfolds to a queen-size bed.

LOFT BEDROOM:

The bedroom is furnished with a 14" thick queen mattress, 2 nightstands, built-in dresser drawers, a small closet, and a ceiling fan.

The large window overlooks the woods behind the cabin -- curtains offer privacy, however guests should expect plenty of natural light in the room.

There is also a workspace up here.

We also have a pack-n-play stashed in the bedroom closet, available for your use as-needed.

EXTERIOR:

Outside you'll be surrounded by tall trees, perennial gardens, & nature on 1+ acres of woodland. There's plenty of lawn space for lay out, play games, or romp with the pup.

Seasonally, guests will enjoy a propane BBQ grill, outdoor lounge chairs, a hammock, & a fire pit.

The driveway is long and has a pull-off spot large enough to fit a trailer, if you'd like to bring your boat, snowmobiles, etc...

In our shed you'll have access to a snow shovel, lawn furniture, yard games, a cooler & picnic blanket.

THE POND/BEACH:

Our neighborhood pond is a small quiet pond with a sandy beach area offering a picnic table & porta-potty (in-season). You can also put in your kayaks or canoe from the beach. The beach makes for a nice ~10 min walk, or a quick ~2 min drive from our cabin.

Guest access
The entire cabin and property is for guests. The shed seen in photos is accessible to guests as well, and houses the trash/recycling as well as other amenities for guest use.

Other things to note
GROUP SIZE: The number of guests you book for is the number of people allowed on the property (max of 4). Our cabin is not set up for guests to invite their own 'guests'.

DOGS: Please make sure to include # of pets in your booking, which will automatically apply our pet fee. We have a dog run set up in the yard, and dog bowls available inside for your use.

TRASH/RECYCLING: Trash & recycling is picked up on Wednesdays from the shed (if your stay overlaps with trash pickup day, you may see someone on the property briefly for that reason).

WINTER CONDITIONS OUTDOORS: The property is a winter wonderland in the snow -- pups, kids & adults will have a blast playing in the yard with fresh powder! The roads coming in and the driveway are *flat* so any vehicle should be fine coming & going, even with snow on the ground. We have a neighbor snow blow & shovel; he's very reliable and takes care of snow removal quickly after a storm. The gas fireplace will provide plenty of heat in the event of a power outage.

SUMMER AIR CONDITIONING: A premium (high-BTU, ultra-quiet rated) window AC will be installed early-June through late-Sept and keeps the cabin comfortably cool. We also have fans.

SECURITY CAMS: Exterior security cameras are in-use for security, to monitor property maintenance, and to ensure only registered guests are on the property.

WILDLIFE: There are bears and other wildlife in the area; do not leave your pets, food, or trash outside unattended.

Hi, I'm Hilary! I'm an interior designer + decorator who loves spending my free time reading, gardening, baking, thrifting, and exploring. My husband and i built a home on 16 acres, where we live with our 2 pups. I love to travel, especially to national parks, but have become more of a homebody in recent years -- exploring & enjoying all that Maine has to offer!
