Sæby Watermill is a landmark at the Danish coast. It is the perfect place for your family or friends to have a unique stay in the more than 300-year-old watermill. Here is everything you need for modern day conveniences while experiencing the nostalgia of history. Our watermill has been renovated with comfort and relaxation in mind.

You will realize there is something special about the watermill from the moment you arrive. The running river, the historic building, and the inviting house all point to a remarkable experience.

The Mill House is one of two fully independent, separate units in the watermill. The Mill House has a private entrance and the house overlooks the river, manicured lawns, flower beds and the orangerie.

On the ground floor the Mill House has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking and baking. Here you will also find the dining area with a dining table for 6 and a cozy sofa.

Upstairs is the living room with an amazing vaulted ceiling with wooden beams dating back to 1710. The beautiful custom-made sofa built by our carpenter neighbor invites you to lounge and listen to music or the sound of the rushing river right outside the house. In the living room you will find my great granddad’s original vintage workbench with a vinyl collection and record player and the alcove with a queen size bed.
Upstairs is the main bedroom with a double bed. And in the open attic, a cozy magic bedroom with two single beds and a view of the garden and river.

From the beautiful garden along the river to the vintage and cozy vibes of the interior, the watermill is a must stay! Every space is made to please your senses and make you feel like you’ve traveled through time. The garden is an oasis! The garden is fenced and is the perfect place to feel serene, yet in the heart of the coastal town, in an amazing neighborhood convenient to everything.

Saeby Watermill is on the river, in the historical center of the picturesque 500-year-old coastal town with plenty of boutiques, shops and restaurants. The beach is a few minutes walk away along the river trail, and the forest is a few minutes drive from the watermill. Enjoy the uniqueness of staying in the renovated 1710 watermill, immersing yourself in the peaceful surroundings with the meditating sound of the water.

In the summer we invite you to navigate the river on paddle boards, and rent bikes from the neighborhood bike shop to explore the coastal surroundings and the vintage charm of Saeby.
