Zweifall is located in the Eifel Natural Park, with lots of possibilities for nature lovers as well as more culturally interested people. Start your walk into the forest directly from our house. The rivers Vicht and Solchbach have carved beautiful valleys into the forest that invite you for endless walks, beaver watching, or blueberry picking.
It takes 20 min to drive to Aachen with its famous dome, horse shows, quaint old core, luxurious thermal bath & spa, and lots of nightlife opportunities.

The space
The bright apartment has a terrace overlooking our wonderful big garden, where you can enjoy your breakfast in the mornings.
It has a cosy pine wood double bed , 1,8 m wide, and a sofa bed. If needed we can provide a travel bed for a small child.

A second terrace a little lower and the adjacent meadow with several trees that provide nice shade in the summer are accessible to all guests. You may want to BBQ together or meet at the fire bowl or you choose to find a quiet corner just for yourself. The little stream at the end of the garden invites to relay or play and freshen up.

For a small fee of €10/hour, guests can also get access to a private Sauna in the basement apartment, which is currently being renovated. Please be aware that you'll need to walk through some construction work, but you'll have access to the garden from there too

Guest access
Access to the apartment is via the main entrance. You have access to your own apartment from the entrance hall. You can use the terrace and garden to relax in. At the end of the garden runs a small stream.
You can park your car on our large drive.
We can supply a travel cot, single floor mattress or even an additional bedroom with a 1,4m bed for a 3rd or 4th person if needed. The additional bedroom can be booked for a surcharge of €10 per night.

Zweifall lies at the intersection of two valleys where two natural streams join. The village is surrounded by beautiful forests as part of the Nature Park Eifel. It has a few shops including restaurants, baker (order your rolls or croissants for breakfast delivery to the door) and a butcher (open only on some afternoons & Saturdays, vending machine 24 hrs) and a bank with a cash dispenser. Several supermarkets are in the nearby villages Breinig & Vicht or in Stolberg or Aachen Brand.

Zweifall is part of the so called "Copper City"- Stolberg because of it's long history of ore mining. You can still see historic melting furnaces closeby.

From Zweifall you reach the centre of Aachen in 20 mins which is famous for it's dome, horse riding shows, natural hot springs spa and roman history. Aachen has a lively night life with many clubs, bars, cinemas and theatres.

Zweifall is surrounded by forests as part of the Eifel Nature Reserve, which is ideal for hikes (don't miss the famous flowering of daffodils in the valley meadows around Easter!) and biking. Exploring is especially great with E-bikes. Check ebikeverleih-dueren.de for rentals & delveries.
Fans of water sports will love the Rursee. Check rursee.de for kayak and SUP rentals etc.

Zweifall is also close to many quaint and historic towns, such as Kornelimünster (7 Km) and Monschau (23 Km) or the open air museum Kommern (52 Km).

We are Sandra and Colin and we welcome you to WaldBach.House - a wonderful and large country house which can also be booked as a complete house e.g. for private events for up to 20 people or as individual self-contained apartments and private rooms. The house is a perfect choice for large family get-togethers who are looking for a naturesque and adventurous getaway. The house contains 2x fully equipped self-catering apartments, one of which is a wellness apartment, with its own private Sauna and private conservatory. They both have their own private kitchens and bathrooms. We also have a cozy penthouse loft room with an en-suite bathroom and various individual private rooms with shared facilities. Guest that book any room may also use the wellness area, as long as the basement apartment is not booked at a minimal fee. The rest of the house (4 double bedrooms) can also be rented out as various single and double rooms or completely e.g. for an event. Guests in these single rooms share a kitchen, lounge, and bathroom. The house is currently being renovated and these listings will be added soon. So, why are we doing this you may ask? - We are located at the portal to the Eifel, which makes it an ideal location to experience both City and Countryside vacations at the same location. We are literally surrounded by forests to explore with amazing trails for hiking, motorcycling, or eBiking. We want to offer a wonderful location for others to enjoy. We want to provide a memorable and homely experience for guests; such as being able to arrive, unpack, put your feet up, and relax in a wonderful garden next to a stream. Sandra ran a school canteen at a Waldorf school and managed the gardens at a Wellness center. Her passion is therefore healthy cooking and growing bio food in our garden. We are planning to offer healthy joint cooking experiences to our guests and also offer guests who are looking for a private event, a personalized menu, and a memorable catering experience. Both fully equipped apartments, loft apartments,s and all other rooms in the house have access to the beautiful garden with space to relax, play games, BBQ grill and you can even cool off and wade in the Vicht stream at the back of the garden on hot days. "Waldbach" House gets its name from being located in the forest (Wald) with the stream 'Vicht' (Bach) running through the back of the garden. Zweifall is known as the portal to the Eifel, offering beautiful scenery, and nature with great hiking trails through the forest and amazing mountain biking and motorcycling routes. You can also store your mountain bike /cycle or motorcycle in one of our lockable garages, including battery charging and eMTB washing facilities, including a bicycle repair stand for doing minor maintenance or repairs to your cycle for a pleasurable biking experience.
