The space
This property feels like a retreat and is set back from the road by a gated driveway, and only minutes from Nevada City, so it is private without feeling isolated.

The upstairs LOFT features an incredible 2000 sqft open concept, yet private, artsy space with too many cool features to list with sleeping, kitchen, living and full bath.

From the inside out, this property is pure magic. Guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor amenities, including multiple seating areas, upper deck with bbq gas grill, lower patio —just to name a few. It’s the perfect place to rest and recharge. The fully furnished kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals after a day at the Yuba River, or enjoy hot cocoa and game nights during the cooler seasons.

Our property manager also serves as our in-house chef and offers an optional breakfast menu during your stay. Private dinners for your group are also available by request. Additional services include pet sitting at an hourly rate and personal shopping, with groceries stocked in the fridge and freezer prior to arrival for an additional fee.

Once you’re ready to explore, the surrounding area offers endless opportunities. The property is just three miles from Edwards Crossing at the Yuba River, and hiking trails begin right at the driveway. The region is known for whitewater rafting, biking, fishing, sailing, and more. History lovers will enjoy nearby mining museums, old railroads, and historic mine sites dating back to the 1800s. For dining, shopping, and the arts, Nevada City and Grass Valley offer excellent restaurants, theaters, concerts, art shows, and charming local shops.

---> The Bunk Room can be rented separately along with the LOFT but is NOT included in Loft rentals only. The Bunk Room is NOT booked when the LOFT is booked for privacy purposes.

---> The neighboring structure is called The Parlor and is rented separately. Additionally, the primary Boho House is also rented separately and loft guests are asked to respect their privacy and not enter through the tan fence/gate separating the two spaces.

---> There are additional outbuildings on the property that are not included in the rental. Guest can rent the outdoor bar and gazebo space for a minimal fee. Please inquire.

Instructions for access, check-in, checkout and directions to the home are sent to the guests through Airbnb a few days prior to arrival by the property manager.

DISCLOSURES:
1. THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS: We do not accept 3rd party bookings. The person who is making the reservation will need to have their picture as their profile, be the person who checks-in and stays for the reservation duration on the property.

2. SLEEPING COUNT/VISITORS: We have a maximum number of overnight guests allowed on the property, being 4 guests max for the loft. No unregistered guests are allowed on the property. Please communicate with us directly for additional visitors coming to the property for approval.

3. EVENTS/PARTIES: The outdoor bar and gazebo are available to use for a minimal fee. Please clean up after yourself. For any parties or events, that include more than the overnight guests, must be approved in advance by the owners and a separate 'event fee' is charged. If an unauthorized party or event takes place fees will apply and you will be asked to vacate the property. Thanks in advance :)

4. TRASH CANS: ALL TRASH MUST BE KEPT INDOORS in the directed areas AT ALL TIMES. This is for your safety. There are animals in the area looking for Trash, do not leave any food or drink out at any point of stay. Thanks for your help.

5. SMOKING: Due to drought during the summer months, there is a strict no smoking policy on the property from June through August. During other months, smoking is allowed in designated outdoor locations using the provided ashtray. No smoking inside or ashes on the ground. Thank you!

6. PLEASE DO NOT START AN OPEN FIRE and NO FIREWORKS. We are in fire-country. NO BONFIRES.

7. THE PROPERTY SAFETY: The property is fully enclosed by a fence. The entrance gate should be kept closed for your safety in keeping animals out.

8. PETS: Dogs (no cats or other pets) are allowed with a $150 pet fee, per pet with a 2-dog maximum.

There are many lakes within an hour, and Lake Tahoe and skiing spots are just over an hour away.

Somehow after living in Los Angeles and touring as the band "Jason & deMarco" for almost 10 years, in 2013 we ended up purchasing a mini-farm in a little village called Leipers Fork outside of Nashville TN which we’ve called GratiDude Ranch. It was by far one of our best decisions ever, although a very unexpected chapter of our journey. We often wonder how we ended up on a farm in Franklin TN! Our vision was that GratiDude Ranch would bridge rustic charm with modern farmhouse style with our accommodations while also offering the community opportunities to gather over amazing and local cuisine, good wine and great music. Through our farm to table dinners, and our original Hillbilly Clue murder mystery dinners, along with special event opportunities, we have created this very brand that we imagined. We are beyond excited to be bringing that brand back to our West Coast roots, opening our second GratiDude Ranch location in Nevada City, CA on Lazy Dog. This location will offer accommodations at our Lazy Dog Retreat, which includes the main three bedroom, two bath, completely renovated farmhouse along with the amazing Barn Loft. Together, both spaces can sleep up to 12 guests. The farmhouse and barn loft can also be rented separately. We welcome small groups, spiritual groups and workshops, families and individuals. We will also begin offering monthly farm to table dinners, along with monthly "Rockabilly Clue" murder mystery dinners in the Spring of 2023. Private events can be booked currently. PLEASE NOTE: Private events must be booked OUTSIDE of all AirBnb bookings. I (Jason) am a real estate agent and I am happy to help our guests with their real estate needs while visiting the area. deMarco is a chef and has a background in the Restaurant and Hospitality business. He has a passion for Health & Wellness, particularly eating and supporting local farmers. He will be working directly with our Property and Event Manager for Lazy Dog. If one of our events isn't happening during your stay, we are happy to recommend great restaurants nearby. We also run a non-profit called "SAFE" (Safe, Affirming Family Environment) where we serve foster children and other families in need through our programming. A portion of all of our events support SAFE. We're grateful for what we've been given, and when we get to share it with others, it simply makes our world happier.
