Neighborhood highlights
This is one of the oldest areas in Milano. The architectural heritage present in the area, which surrounds the circus and the Roman amphitheatre of the Basilica di San Lorenzo and Sant'Eustorgio, reveals a layered urban landscape in which the ancient city and the contemporary city are conquered.
Corso di Porta Ticinese is a lively shopping street such as the medieval Porta Ticinese with Piazza XXIV Maggio, one of the main destinations of the Milanese evenings. Is characterized by restaurants, pubs, bars for happy hours and bargain numbers in all fashions.
The area of the Ticinese Medieval Gate and the Columns of San Lorenzo is a place of retreat for young Milanese students and for theatrical performances and city initiatives and events. The Corso is also the center of tourist and cultural itineraries, near the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio, one of the oldest and most expensive places in the city. Do not miss the Museo Diocesano, and the Basilica di San Lorenzo.
If during the day the Navigli are home to painters, artists and tourists looking for suggestive corners of old Milan, in the evening they are one of the busiest areas of Milanese nightlife, especially on weekends. The atmosphere of the Navigli is very special and will make you relive the Milan of the past, with its pubs and characteristic taverns, beer bars, disco bars and clubs with live music.
