The space
🏠 THE CABIN
Welcome to Under the Moon, a stunning custom built cabin completed in January 2021, nestled on a private one acre lot with plenty of space and privacy to truly unwind.
This spacious 3,800 square foot retreat features 4 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests with a maximum of 10 adults. Early check-in is available, and parking comfortably fits up to 5 midsize vehicles. The cabin is also wheelchair accessible with a ramp for your convenience.
🛋️ THE LIVING SPACE
The heart of the home is the grand great room, featuring a beautiful leather sofa set, a stunning stone gas fireplace, and a 65" smart TV — all framed by breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountain sunset. The dining room seats 10, with an additional 4 seats at the kitchen breakfast bar, perfect for gathering the whole group together. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a custom island and high end appliances, making meal preparation an absolute pleasure.
🛏️ THE BEDROOMS
The main level master king bedroom is thoughtfully designed for wheelchair accessibility, featuring 36 inch doorways and direct access to the main deck. The two upper loft master suites each feature king beds, electric fireplaces, private bathrooms with separate showers, and their own private balconies. The lower level master suite offers two queen beds, an electric fireplace, and a luxurious steam shower. Little ones will love the bunk beds tucked in the game room, perfect for kids ages 2 to 12!
🎮 THE GAME ROOM & THEATER
The loft area provides a cozy retreat with a sofa, poker table, and computer desk. Head downstairs to the incredible game room featuring a pool table, custom dry bar with beverage fridge, arcade games, virtual pinball, and a 60" smart TV — endless fun for everyone! The theater room is equipped with an 85" smart TV, surround sound system, and electric reclining seats for the ultimate movie experience.
🌿 THE OUTDOOR SPACE
Step outside to the lower level deck where a cozy gas fire pit surrounded by 6 comfortable chairs connects to a large gazebo housing a 10 person party hot tub — the perfect way to end any day in the mountains. High speed WiFi and a washer and dryer are also available for your convenience.
🏊 SWIMMING POOL
As an added bonus, guests enjoy a complimentary membership to the swimming pool and fishing at Honeysuckle Meadows RV Park in Wears Valley, just a short 15 minute drive away (open May through September, weather permitting). Fishing poles are available for purchase on site or feel free to bring your own. Spa towels are provided at the cabin for your pool visit — we just ask that you remember to bring them back when you are done. We want your stay to be as relaxing and worry free as possible!
📍 LOCATION
Under the Moon is ideally located just 6 miles from Pigeon Forge, 7 miles from Kroger and Publix, 11 miles from Dollywood, 13 miles from Gatlinburg, and 27 miles from the scenic Cades Cove. Adventure and convenience are always close by!
Guest access
The road is a paved road to the cabin, in Dogwood Farms Subdivision. Most of the turns are mild, but there are a few that are sharp and steep, please use caution during bad weather.
Other things to note
Security: For security reasons, security cameras were installed on the front porch and back porch to monitor the cabin, there are no cameras inside the cabin.
**Please note that we require a disclaimer for the hot tub to be signed before the access code is sent to you. Please provide a valid email address so I can email the disclaimer for you to sign.**
Cabin Water: Our cabin water is well water, as with most cabins in the mountains there is no city water connected to cabins and may not be desirable texture or taste for some. We do have a filtration system under the kitchen sink for the cold water, to help with this. It is your preference to use the cabin water or purchase water for drinking purposes.
Supplies:
We get you started with 2 rolls of paper towels in the kitchen(one is under sink), 2 rolls of toilet papers per bathroom, dish detergent, 4 dishwasher pods, 4 kitchen trash bags(under kitchen sink), 1 bar soap per bathroom, and a small shampoo per bathroom. Guests need to get their own supplies for the rest of their stay!
Kitchen:
Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals! You will find a variety of pots and pans, a slow cooker, a blender, food processor, toaster, waffle maker, and a combination Keurig and coffee pot. Baking tools are neatly stored in one of the island drawers and a beverage cooler is available in the dry bar for your sodas and wine. Both a gas grill and charcoal grill are available outside for your grilling pleasure!
Linen:
We provide clean sheets and towels for 12 persons.
You will find extra towels for hot tub use in a basket in the game room. We have a washer and dryer to wash towels or sheets if you need to.
We kindly ask that guests take care of our linens. Any stubborn stains found on towels or sheets may result in an additional charge..
We added Pack N Play for toddlers; it is in lower level bedroom closet. When used, please put it back to its folded state. We do not provide bedding for Pack N Play; guests need to bring their own baby sheets
and cover.
Fireplace:
We have gas fireplaces in the great room and the lower-level game room, the pilot lights are on in the wintertime and off in the summertime.
TV:
We provide Hulu live TV & Disney +. This includes premium movie channels and sports channels. Please do not change any settings for the TV’s. Theatre Room: We equipped the theatre room with the newest 85’ TV screen, surround system and leather recliners and we please ask that only adults operate the theatre room equipment. Please advise children not to change any settings in the theatre room. You will find the instructions to use the theatre room next to TV.
Trash:
We have 4 trash bins outside the cabin in a Bear Proof Trash Container Bins Resistant; as you are in the heart of beautiful bear country, we kindly ask that you clear food from your vehicles and keep the trash bins locked — it is all part of the authentic Smoky Mountain experience!.
Swimming Pool (Open May to September weather depending)
To make our guests’ stay more enjoyable, we added a free membership for our guests to enjoy the swimming pool and fishing at Honey Suckle Meadows RV Park in Wears Valley. About a 15 minute drive from the cabin. You can also go fishing but you will have to bring your own poles or purchase some there.
Note: Our housekeeper will empty the trash bins at check out, but if you accumulated more trash, that does not fit in 4 trash cans in the bins, then please take it directly to Sevier County Waste Management in Pigeon Forge (Near Kroger Supermarket):
