Just a 10 minute drive from Happo One ski resort & Mountain, as you are looking at it or even a brisk hiking or snowshoeing walk distance from the Iwatake Ski Slope or Mountain Resort..
You will be staying in a charming village & a complete private house on top of the hill with a big land next & around it for your sole use..
The space
Tsukimi Cottage means “ Moon-viewing Cottage “ in Japanese
Located in the Tranquilly & picturesque village of Donguri on the opposite side of the Matsu River overlooking the Happo Mountain & Sakka Ski Area's you will find a charming village ...
On the top of this village and basically 5 min walk from the house, there is a forest road that gives access to the Iwatake Mountain & Ski Resort. If you don’t mind a 1 hour hike up that is, specially in Winter but going down its possible to ski or snowboard all the way down to the Donguri Cafe & Skatepark. ( Intermediate & expert only please )
For access to the Iwatake Gondola or the Happo Gondola its probably a 10-min drive..
Down at the entrance road of the Donguri Village you also have Kurashita Onsen which is amazing & is the only one that has yellowish-brown Salt & Iron Water.
My name is Serioja Glorie & I have been dreaming of this beautiful cottage ever since the first time I came to Japan.
I actually bought the land next to it back in 2020, build a huge camping deck for summer & named it ' Kami Land' which is now directly connected to this property.
This year 2023 I was able to finally buy this dreamhouse but since I already live in a very nice chalet down in the same street, I decided I can rent out "Tsukimi Cottage" for the next few years.
Enjoy the spacious, simply elegant but luxury of this charming log cabin.
Fully self-contained & private, set at the top of Donguri Village, in the beautiful Hakuba Valley, famous for hosting the premier events of the 1998 Winter Olympics.
This village is also known for its many Kamoshika ( Japanese Serow ) & Monkey sightings but also other wildlife can be seen here like Racoons...
Whether visiting us for the Winter Season, and the excitement of having the snow at your doorstep, or for the cool refreshing Summer Season, Tsukimi Cottage gives you a cozy warm space of a log cabin for up to 10 people at a very affordable price.
The cabin has everything you need & is probably one or even the only property that lets you use the FIREPLACE for a cozy winter evening!
( One basket included per day, extra charge of 1000Yen per basket for the rest )
You can also enjoy a homemade dinner as there is a big table for 6-8 people in the dining area & it has an open fully equipped kitchen.
The living room also has a large smart TV with Amazon Firestick for watching NETFLIX or whatever you prefer.
Or can enjoy the view of the mountains on a summer evening & do BBQ at the front yard or terrace, chill in the hammock or even do a BBQ on the deck in summer on 'Kami Land'
The entire cabin has a high-speed broadband WIFI, perfect for staying connected with your own laptop iPad or smartphone.
The living room is furnished with comfy sofa’s & blankets and plenty of space for everyone to relax.
The master bedroom has a King size bed and mountain view as the windows are all around.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms with two single beds & one room with a double bed & a tatami matt for eventually extra futon beds that can be provided upon request.
In the newly renovated Japanese style bathroom, there is a fully automatic bathtub, shower space, vanity & laundry space, with a fully automatic washer/dryer, and a separate toilet.
Pls note that there will be an extra 10k per day in case of heavy snow clearing this year as there was a huge amount of snow last year and the snow clearing was extensively hard and expensive for us…
Guest access
The house is completely accessible for the guests together with the land next to it for camping in Summer or even snow camping in winter if you like :)
The land next door is named Kami Land and has a 48m2 wooden deck for camping.
There is also extra parking if needed but have to tell me in advance so i can clear the snow.
Don’t worry about the heavy snow as I will be there to clear the driveway & entrance every day that is needed ;) How ever due to the exuberant amount of snow last year we are forced to charge an extra fee of 10k per day for the snow clearing in case of heavy snow…
Pls do note during extreme snowfall the street will not be cleared first thing in the morning so you might have to be patient until the big snowplow comes.
Other things to note
How to get there?
You will need your own 4x4 drive car or will have to rent one for sure. Pls make sure the car has winter tires in winter & snowchains ( you can buy in the local gas station for 18000Yen )
Donguri is a Winter Wonderland Village for sure but also known for its heavy snow :)
Taxi's could come here but its not guaranteed on heavy snow days but we have a taxi 4x4 that you can book ahead..

Now don’t worry as we have a big snow blower & snow clearing is included.
Since I live in the street, I will take care of this myself and make sure the driveway & entrance are accessible.
