Welcome to Elvehytta, a unique two-story hideaway perched high among the lush spruce trees of Lårdal, Telemark. Step into the magic of nature, embraced by the tranquility of the forest and the soothing sound of the Lårdalsåi river.
The cozy first floor offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. The sleeping alcove with a double bed gives you a snug nook for sweet dreams, while the well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare anything from quick snacks to full dinners. The living room, featuring a handcrafted oak table and a comfortable sofa, invites you to long, warm evenings by the crackling fireplace.
Up in the loft, two spacious double beds await – perfect for families or groups of friends. Large windows and skylights let nature flow inside, allowing you to fall asleep to the melody of the river and wake up to the soft light of the forest.
Inspired by Nordic design and local traditions, the cabin is built with sustainability in focus. Solar energy keeps electricity costs low, and the water management system is designed with care for the environment. Enjoy modern comforts surrounded by nature.
The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing delicious meals – perhaps a juicy leg of lamb in the oven or a perfectly grilled steak on the gas grill. Remember to set the oven timer, both for safety and energy efficiency.
Our eco-friendly toilet is simple to use, but please take a moment to read and follow the instructions carefully.
We provide duvets, pillows, coffee, tea, hand soap, dish soap, and bed linen. Sheets are placed ready for you, but guests are asked to make the beds themselves in their chosen sleeping spots.
The cabin is filled with cozy touches like candles and decorative details to make evenings extra special. Contact us via message for additional services such as pre-made beds, local products, and more.
We want both children and adults to feel safe here, so we encourage supervision of little ones. Together, we can take care of the cabin and its surroundings, preserving this place of peace and joy for future guests.
Despite its compact size, many visitors find the cabin surprisingly spacious, offering both relaxation and togetherness.
Before You Leave
We kindly ask that you leave the cabin tidy and take your trash with you. Cleaning supplies are available for minor spills and accidents, so you can head home with peace of mind and fond memories.
Please note:
• Hand towels, kitchen towels, and dishcloths are provided. Bath towels can be rented by messaging us via Airbnb.
• There is no running water in the cabin. We provide 20 liters of dishwater per day before your arrival, but you must bring your own drinking water. Use water sparingly, and it will last. The dishwasher’s “ECO” program uses 12 liters of water, which we ensure is filled separately in addition to your daily 20 liters. Wipe food scraps with paper and place dishes directly in the machine — no rinsing needed if this is done.
• The outdoor shower is available only during the summer season, as it cannot withstand frost.
