EXCITING NEW IMPROVEMENTS: HOT TUB and a gorgeous FIRE TABLE on a new second deck!
Treetop Haven is our beloved family getaway on almost 6 acres of mountainside woods. Enormous windows and a gorgeous wrap-around deck let you enjoy the treetops in total privacy. With plenty of beds for a large family, a full kitchen, our delightful 'Bear Haven', and games and classic movies to enjoy, our cabin is pristine, cozy, and welcoming.
NOTE: We strongly recommend AWD for winter (steep paved driveway)
The space
Newly installed central air/heat with UV air scrubber keeps our delightful cabin comfortable year round. We also have several ceiling fans throughout the house.
On the main floor, the great room, with gorgeous cathedral ceilings and stunning windows includes comfortable couches, a gorgeous handcrafted coffee table and side table, a comfortable recliner with heat and massage, and a cozy pellet stove for chilly weather. There is also a puzzle table where we always have a jigsaw puzzle in progress; feel free to dive in and work on it, or take it apart and start a new one if you complete it. We have plenty of puzzles to work on!
The great room has sliding glass doors out to our beautiful wrap-around deck, complete with a table, chairs, and a propane grill. In warmer weather we add a lighted sun umbrella to the table.
The kitchen includes full-size appliances, a refrigerator with filtered water and ice in the door, a microwave, toaster oven, and Keurig coffeemaker with everything you need to make an outstanding cup of coffee. (If you prefer a drip coffeemaker, you'll find one in the cabinet above the dryer.)
The dining room includes a table that seats 6, but can be expanded to seat 10. Lovely dishes, glassware, placemats, and cloth napkins (formal and informal) are provided.
On the main floor is the 'retro' Entertainment Room (also the 4th bedroom), which includes a VHS player and dozens of great movies, a Blu-Ray/DVD player, and tons of board games. It also includes lots of great books. In the entertainment room is twin daybed that can be converted to a king.
Also on the main floor is a full bathroom, with shower and bathtub.
The storage area includes a full-size washer and dryer, laundry detergent, iron and ironing board and cleaning supplies.
On the second floor, in addition to ‘Bear Haven’, we have three rooms and a full bathroom with shower and bathtub:
The Master Bedroom has a split king SleepNumber bed with adjustable head and feet. It also includes a roomy dresser.
The Second Bedroom - which we set up so our kids could invite some friends out for a weekend - includes a queen/twin bunkbed, as well as a twin daybed that can be converted to a king bed. It also includes bookcases with books for children and teenagers of all ages.
The Small Room can be either used as an office, with a table that can be folded out of the way when not needed, or a bedroom, with a twin Murphy bed.
All of the bedrooms, including the entertainment room, have blackout curtains.
There is room for 2-3 vehicles to park at the top of the driveway. We provide a Level Two complimentary car charger for our guests who drive EVs.
Our driveway is paved, but very steep. Stay to the outside of the curve at the top, and you’ll be fine. (Please note: RVs or other large vehicles or trailers will not be able to make it up our driveway; nor would motorcycles. If you need to park such a vehicle nearby, please contact us and we can help make arrangements.)
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property, with the exception of the garage, the dining room closet, and the crawl space below the house. A key to the shed under the deck is provided so guests may store trash and recycling in the bins provided.

We are in the woods. Occasional ants and bugs do get into the house despite our best efforts. You also may see occasional critters in the woods - we've seen plenty of deer, a few raccoons, lots of birds, and an occasional (harmless) snake. Please just LEAVE THE CRITTERS ALONE and admire them from a distance.
Absolutely no hunting, fireworks, or fires (propane fire table excepted) are permitted on our property.

Neighborhood highlights
Right outside downtown Romney, WV, restaurants, stores, and a hospital are all within a few miles.
Located up in the trees, we are above a two-lane highway. With the windows open, or out on the deck, you will hear some traffic. Inside with the windows closed, it is not terribly noticeable.
Check out the Potomac Eagle Scenic Train trips leaving from the Wappocomo Station, just 3 miles from our house!
