The space
The cottage has no heating, only a fireplace
Dogs are allowed for a fee
No smoking in the cottage
Water is from a well (we also provide bottled water)
Cabin is part of forest cabin settlement
In the summer months we are unable to guarantee the quality of the water in the nearby lake. In recent years, blue-green algae have formed on the surface of the water due to high summer temperatures- this can affect swimming - please take this into account :) Alternatively, you can swim in the nearby sandpit lake (appx.10 min drive), where the water quality is usually better throughout the summer.
If you have any further questions or wishes, please send us a message, we will be happy to answer everything.

♥ STORY
In the beginning there were two of them. Anna and Marek.
Anna as a designer
Marek as the workforce.
Anna had a dream to build a hut like the one in the north, but she didn't feel up to the whole project herself. Marek liked her idea and perceived it as a relatively simple thing to implement, mainly because he comes from a carpentry family from South Bohemia, where the cottage is located.
"We'll work on it together with the family and still save money, what more could you ask for!"
Considering that Mark's biggest project requiring manual dexterity was adding two bookshelves by the bed, his estimate of a year of odd jobs was quite bold.
And so after 3 years of joy, work, worry, new friends, arguments, financial crises and work, we finally finished the cottage. There are no longer two of us, but 5 of us.
Anna sometimes regrets that interior design is not her livelihood yet and Marek had to get a toolbox and a loyalty card to Homedepot.
The cottage is a matter of the heart for us, and although we wanted to use it extensively as well, with more children and growing interest from guests, we rent the cottage out fully throughout the year.

♥ NORDIC COTTAGE WITH ITS OWN PIECE OF FOREST
Inspiration from the architecture of houses in the Nordic countries is obvious at first glance.
Large glass areas, open interior space, light wood and a connection with nature.
Therefore, the land itself was key, which we came across by chance and were delighted with because of the pine forest and the ubiquitous stand of blueberries.
And what would a Nordic cottage be without a body of water? The Dvořiště pond is 50 metres from the cottage and you can see it from the bedroom skylight, or from the front terrace where there is beautiful light especially in the morning- perfect for morning coffee.
However, the cottage as such, is all oriented just the other side to the forest.
Thanks to the large windows, the pine trees are all around you. You will see, hear and feel them.
The whole space is true to the hygge style.
A high airy ceiling, plenty of places to sit, read, lounge, a well-equipped kitchen with basic ingredients to prepare great meals and not to miss a good quality bed to look forward to every night.
The whole outdoor terrace with seating, barbecue and fireplace is also facing the forest.

♥ COMFORTABLE PRIVACY
Neither of us are the kind of people who would feel completely comfortable in a secluded cabin in the middle of the woods, at the same time, it didn't make sense to us to squeeze a Nordic cabin between two old-style cabins in a regular cabin village.
So we opted for a compromise.
While our land is part of the cottage settlement, it is bordered by forest to the left and right. The only neighbour is the one in front of us, who is very friendly and has his cottage facing exactly the opposite way.
Therefore, you will feel like you are in the middle of a Nordic taiga at our cottage and you don't have to worry about being in the middle of a Nordic taiga.

♥ ACTIVITIES
We recommend doing nothing and just relaxing. Sleep, read, chat or play a board game, which are available in the lodge.
In the summer, throw some meat on the grill in the evening and contemplate on the terrace.
In winter, warm up in the stove and watch the snowy countryside with a hot tea and a blanket.
As already mentioned, there is a pond opposite the cottage, even the fourth largest in the country. It will satisfy both swimmers who just want to refresh themselves and lovers of water sports.
You can go to the pond with your own windsurf, paddleboard, boat, etc.
You can reach the water a few steps from the cottage through a public entrance with a pier.
Apart from the ponds, the Třeboň region is also known for its cycle paths. One is located right on the main access road. You can store your bikes in a lockable shed next to the cottage.
If you prefer to walk, as we do, you can take the trails on foot. For example, there is a peat bog not far from the cottage. There's also a bird sanctuary nearby, so you'll have herons flying overhead and a family of ducks greeting you on the driveway early in the morning.
