Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
The Tongass Treehouse sits about a hundred feet up in the lush rainforest canopy. Start your day with coffee while listening to eagles & whale watching from bed, the reading nook, living room or deck, then enjoy Juneau's best offerings - like remote glacier hikes or local shopping - all less than 15 minutes away, then return to luxurious comforts to relax at home & watch the sunset as flying squirrels & eagles play next to the deck.

The Otter Den is a separate studio unit below.

The space
This is a large house with spacious, open and just-remodeled kitchen, sitting area, reading nook and spacious deck overlooking the ocean (down about 2 stories of steps). It has three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with an ocean view, and a brand-new remodeled bathroom with radiant floor heating (including the shower and shower bench).

This is a completely separate space from the Tongass Treehouse Otter Den. It has an entrance on a separate level.

The only shared space is separate laundry area with outside door access.

Guest access
You have the entire Tongass Treehouse Orcaview Cabin to yourself, access to a free shared laundry room with two washers and dryers, and lots of nearby trails!

Other things to note
We are high up on a cliff, without direct beach access in front of the house. We access a secluded beach via a short walk down a beautiful trail.

We do not have children and our home is not child-proofed, so if you have a young child you’d like to join you, we confirm you’re aware of this at time of booking.

We do have cats that live in the home part-time - our allergen mitigation includes limited access to some rooms, vacuuming daily with a HEPA filtered vacuum, having a BlueAir 121 HEPA filter in the main open space and a Winix C545 HEPA filter that can be used in the one bedroom the cats are allowed. We have had a number of guests with severe cat allergies stay and tell us they had no symptoms, but it is something to be aware of.

We are in the forest, and wildlife and occasional bugs are a fact of life here that we cannot control.

We ask that everyone who books is ok with stairs, as there are a number of them leading down to the home.

My work: Scientist
I'm obsessed with: Wildlife, gardening and and free diving
Our home is right in the harbor we both grew up. We are childhood sweethearts and have spent our days hiking, fishing and diving all over Juneau. We are avid cooks and love reading. Like many kids in remote areas we couldn't wait to leave, but after traveling the world and living down south we really missed home. As soon as we saw the Tongass Treehouse we knew we had to make it our home. :) It has everything we love about Alaska!
