This memorable place is anything but ordinary. The Tiny House at Moonshine Meadows is located on 7.5 acres at the edge of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Enjoy beautiful mountain views and a place to rest after a day of outdoor adventures in the North Cascades.

The space
The Tiny House is the perfect retreat to come and unwind. The Tiny House has 2 sleeping lofts, each with a comfortable queen size bed and a sky light for stargazing. There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook, dining table has wraparound seating, a spacious bathroom with washer and dryer, and a stunning outdoor space to sit and enjoy nature.

Guest access
The Tiny House is located just off the road against a tree backdrop. Your access to the Tiny House will be an electronic keypad - a code will be sent to you prior to your arrival. Once you are settled into the Tiny House, feel free to begin exploring the property and forest surrounding the Tiny House.

Other things to note
HISTORY
The big white building on the property is a 100+ year old former one room schoolhouse that served the town of Grotto for the children of the workers who staffed the nearby cement factory and clay mine throughout the early and mid 20th century. We’ve named the property Moonshine Meadows because the earliest newspaper story we found in reference to the property was a report that the town was illegally storing alcohol in the basement of the schoolhouse during Prohibition 🙂

OTHER THINGS GO NOTE
There are 3 other dwellings located on the property, but these are separated from The Tiny House by a large field and woods. Please be mindful of other guests on the property during your stay. We ask that you observe quiet hours between 10:00 pm - 7:00 am.


You will also be located near many local adventures and attractions: historic downtown Skykomish (4 miles), rock climbing in Index (10 miles), skiing at Stevens Pass (19 miles), the Bavarian village of Leavenworth (55 miles), fishing or white water rafting in the Skykomish River, and numerous nearby biking and hiking trails.

Important: Access to nearby recreation areas can vary and is subject to WSDOT road conditions and safety closures.

Fishing Update: Due to low wild Chinook salmon returns, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has temporarily closed fishing on the mainstem Skykomish River through November 1, 2026. If fishing is part of your trip, we recommend checking the latest WDFW regulations before booking, as some nearby rivers and lakes may still be open.
