This lovingly crafted, off-grid tiny house is powered by the sun and designed for simple, mindful living. Perched on the last hill above a dramatic gorge, it offers sweeping views and an intimate connection with the surrounding landscape. Its elevated position invites the raw beauty of nature to be felt fully, with moments where the wildness of the elements becomes part of the coastal experience.
The interior features a raised built-in bed (with large storage drawers underneath) positioned to take advantage of large picture windows with views over the gorge and toward the beach.For comfort, there is an upright fan next to the bed, and a smart TV with Netflix for relaxed evenings indoors.
Large stacking doors open from an airy, open-plan kitchen and dining area, with a separate bathroom for privacy. These doors fold back to connect the living space seamlessly to the enclosed outdoor deck.
The deck is fully caged for peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors without concern where occasional baboon visits become entertainment rather than interruption. Take in picturesque sea and mountain views from the outdoor seating area, perfect for slow mornings and sunset drinks.
The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and an electric microwave, while all water heating runs on gas.
Free parking is available on the premises. The beach and lagoon are ideal for swimming and walking, and numerous paths offer rewarding hikes. Several restaurants are within walking distance, and the location is ideal for exploring other nearby coastal towns, penguins, botanical gardens, and surrounding wine routes.
Guest access
The tiny home is the only occupied dwelling on the property and sits at the very end of the dirt road,(accessible by normal cars) offering complete privacy and a true sense of escape. Guests may park in the private cul-de-sac and follow a walk up hand-built stone steps that lead you into the landscape and up to the house.
Please note: Access to the tiny house is via hand-built stone stairs that can be uneven and steep in places with no handrails. For this reason, the property is not suitable for guests who are not agile or who have mobility limitations.

This tinyhouse used to be located in Pringle Bay and has now been permanently installed in Rooiels.
1. Perched high above the gorge, the home often sings with the wind, a reminder that this is a place where nature leads and modern life gently steps aside. Exposed to coastal weather, on windy days and nights, the wind can be strong and audible. The house is securely designed to withstand these conditions, but guests should be comfortable with natural sounds and the untamed character of the landscape.
2. The property is not suitable for children or pets. The unit strictly accommodates two guests only, making it ideal for a peaceful and intimate stay.
3. The inverter fan is located in a cupboard and may be audible at times.
4. Access to the tiny house is via hand-built stone stairs that can be uneven and steep in places. For this reason, the property is not suitable for guests who are not agile or who have mobility limitations.
5. An electric heater, toaster and microwave are available and can be used during daylight hours when the solar panels are generating power, helping to preserve the balance of the off-grid system.
6. Due to the high fire risk in the area, regret braai facilities are not provided.
