Skoolie /ˈsku:.li/
noun
1. A school bus that has been converted into a tiny home.

Come stay in our 1992 Thomas school bus that we converted into a beautiful tiny home and now share with all of you at our ranch. It has running water, electricity, a king sized bed, a tiny kitchen and a bathroom. We installed cedar ceilings throughout the bus which makes it feel (and smell) very cozy.

The space
This is a converted 1992 Thomas school bus. It is 40ft long and 8ft wide which makes it about 320 square feet. Most of its life was spent as a high school sports bus. It was sold off by the district and we have given it a second life as an adventure machine/simple living space. We did the conversion ourselves and shared the process on YouTube @Colaventures. It still runs and we take it on occasional family adventures; we are happy to share it with you in between!

There is a king sized bed in the back, and the two couches up front are just under twin sized beds.

Bring your kids! Just send us a message to ask to extend the 2 person limit for you. (+$15/child/stay)

Guest access
The whole bus is yours!

Please note: The bus is located on our ranch property, where we live with our four kids, 2 dogs and chickens.

To access the bus you will go down our driveway, past our house to the designated parking spot. There is a short walk to the bus (approximately 100 steps).

Some areas on the property are off-limits and a map will be provided in the bus.

Other things to note
The bus isn’t insulated like a house, so the temperatures can be extreme in the summer and winter. That being said, the mini wood burning stove in the bedroom will keep you very warm in the winter, and we’ve also provided a electric space heaters and extra blankets to ensure your comfort. In the summer there is an AC unit in the bedroom.
NOTE: Wood is not provided for the mini stove in the summer.

The toilet is a hassle-free, water-free Natures Head composting toilet that is very easy to use. Here are some tips we'd like you to know ahead of time:
1. We all sit to pee here.
2. Don’t put anything other than toilet paper down the hatch.
3. Please be very careful not to get any TP into the front pee holes, or push any TP towards the pee area below when you close the flap, it clogs the pipe and requires a messy clean up job for us. We appreciate your diligence in this matter.

Up to 2 kids are welcome upon request!
