The space
Set in the peaceful town of Tangmarg, just 30 minutes from the Gulmarg Gondola, The Ruby is a jewel of a tiny home that invites you to experience Kashmir at its most magical. Named after the precious gemstone, its ruby-red interiors and bold glass facade symbolise passion, luxury, and rarity, making it a truly one-of-a-kind escape.
The villa’s striking white facade with its sloping roof and floor-to-ceiling glass doors gives it a modern yet timeless presence amidst the mountains. Inside, two bedrooms are designed with comfort in mind, featuring attached bathrooms, TVs, plush linens, electric blankets, and traditional gas bukhari’s to keep you cozy. A spiral staircase adds character to the space, connecting the ground floor to the upper floor room.
The ground floor bedroom is spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a king-sized bed, a cozy sofa seating corner, and tall glass windows that bring the outdoors in. Step outside into the open space for long walks, morning yoga, or evenings by the bonfire and BBQ. With outdoor seating set against a backdrop of trees and valleys, every corner is made for making memories.

About the Space:
Bedrooms:
The villa features 2 well-furnished bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Each room is equipped with a king-sized bed, a small workstation, an ensuite bathroom, and a TV for comfort and convenience. Fleece bedding, gas bukhari’s, and electric blankets ensure warmth through the colder months.
The ground floor bedroom includes a cozy sofa seating corner by tall glass windows, creating a warm space to relax indoors. The striking spiral staircase rises gracefully from the ground floor bedroom, connecting to the first-floor room and adding modern charm to the villa. The first-floor bedroom has a small balcony with sweeping views, an ideal spot to enjoy your morning tea.
Washrooms:
There are 2 ensuite bathrooms in the villa. All bathrooms are tastefully designed and come with geysers, towels, and basic toiletries.
Garden:
The villa is surrounded by open green space with outdoor seating arranged for bonfire and BBQ evenings. The serene surroundings make it ideal for leisure walks, yoga, or simply soaking in the stillness of nature.
Kitchen and Meals:
A complimentary breakfast is included in the tariff. Other meals can also be arranged on request:
- Vegetarian meals: Rs. 800 per meal per guest
- Non-vegetarian meals: Rs. 1,000 per meal per guest
- Children - Rs. 500 per meal
- Barbeque 1 kg Mutton - Rs. 1800, 1 Kg Chicken - Rs. 1500, Vegetarian - Rs, 1200, 1 kg Fish - Rs. 1800
An attached pantry is available for basic use like reheating food and making tea or coffee. The main kitchen is in the adjoining villa, and meals are freshly prepared there by the property staff. This fully equipped kitchen is also available for guests who wish to prepare their own meals at an additional cost. It is fitted with a gas stove, refrigerator, water purifier, toaster, induction plate, mixer, and grinder, along with crockery and cutlery.

Add-on Experience:
Guests can also rent out a Royal Enfield (Model 2023 350CC meteor) at an additional cost of Rs. 1,500 for 12 hours. The fuel will be at an additional charge over and above the rental charge.

Guests have access to the entire property.
Other things to note
- Both The Ruby and Gulistan House are located on the same premises. Guests who wish to book both properties can connect directly with the host.
- Pets are welcome, but guests are requested to take responsibility for their care and any damage caused.
- Geysers: the hot water comes via geysers which have a 50L capacity, hence, please use water accordingly for 2 people to take a shower comfortably.
- Gas heaters must be switched off before you go to sleep. Same stands true for electric blankets.
- Gas bukhari’s can be used for up to four hours at a time, and electric blankets are best used for only a few hours.
- The last stretch of road leading to the villa may not be fully concrete. During the winter months, guests may need to get dropped and walk from there because of snow.
- Driver accommodation: We generally do not provide driver accommodation. However, if there is availability in the attic, we can provide at an additional charge of Rs. 1500 per night.
- House guidelines: Kindly switch off all lights and appliances when not in use. This home has been thoughtfully created with care and love, please treat it kindly and help us keep it in excellent condition for future guests.
