Relax with the whole family at this peaceful property or make it an off-the-grid couple's retreat. This riverside home is the perfect place for a fishing getaway, a guys or girls' trip, a book club or quilting weekend, or a family river vacation. Enjoy our fully equipped kitchen and eat at the dining room table that seats 6, or dine alfresco and enjoy the river views and firepit. You can also relax in the above-ground pool from June to mid-Sept. or, at the end of the day, enjoy the spa bathtub.

The space
Our brick home is located about 15 minutes outside Tekamah, along the Missouri River at mile marker 673. Pelican Point State Recreation Area is just 1/4 mile South and has access to a ramp for launching your boat. Our home has amazing views of the river, two bedrooms, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms, shower, spa bathtub, sunroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, and a desk area. The master bedroom has a new Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam, queen mattress with a pillow-top quilted mattress cover. There is a double bed in the second bedroom, a daybed between the dining room and living room, a single sofa bed in the sunroom, and a new Queen, Luxury Air mattress, with a built-in pump in the hall closet where extra sheets, pillows, and blankets are located. You will be traveling on dirt roads the last couple of miles, and after your last left turn, just past Pelican Point, the speed limit is 10MPH, on this private road.

Guest access
You can use all the rooms inside the house. Outside, enjoy the patio and pool areas including access to the outside cubby where pool toys and other outside games, like cornhole, are located along with firepit accessories, like roasting marshmallow sticks. (Access to the garage is not permitted.)

Other things to note
In the spring of 2025, we completely replanted our grass because, after the flooding in June 2024, sandburs became a problem. As of July 2025, sandburs are not an issue, except where the riverside grass is long. You may still encounter sandburs if you walk in the surrounding areas outside of our property. Please ensure your shoes and pets are mud and sandbur-free before entering the house. Please watch pets and children carefully near the riverside as the ground can be soft and sloping.

Neighborhood highlights

Our property is in a remote, riverfront location where you can watch and/or participate in activity on the river and the only other people you might see are those who come to enjoy the river on weekends. At the state park, 1/4 mile to the South, enjoy nature walks with scenic views and possible wildlife.

We are a family of 4. Melanie, originally from Nebraska, and David, originally from London, residing in Los Angeles since 1982 and 1992 respectively. We've been married since 1994, and have one daughter, one son, and one Labrador. Melanie has been volunteering for a non-profit Theatre for Children organization since 2001. We are a very outgoing family who love to travel, socialize and entertain.
