Relax with the whole family at this peaceful property where the river is just 50 feet from the back patio. This riverside home is the perfect place for a fishing getaway, a guys or girls trip, an off the grid weekend, or a family vacation. Enjoy our fully equipped kitchen and eat at the dining room table which seats 6, or grill on the patio and enjoy the river views and firepit. You can also relax in the above-ground pool from June to mid-Sept. or, at the end of the day, enjoy the spa bathtub.

The space
Our brick home is located about 15 minutes outside Tekamah, along the Missouri River at mile marker 673. Pelican Point State Recreation Area is just 1/4 mile South and has access to a boat ramp. Our home has amazing views of the river, 2 bedrooms, 1 and 1/2 bathrooms, shower, spa bathtub, sunroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, and a desk area. We have a cement patio which leads to the steps of the pool deck, (open June to mid-Sept.), a grill, outside seating and a fire pit just off the edge of the patio. The master bedroom has a Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam, queen mattress with a pillow-top quilted mattress cover. There is a double bed in the “Scooby” bedroom, a daybed between the dining room and living room, a single sofa bed in the sunroom, and a Queen, Luxury Air mattress, with a built-in pump in the hall closet where extra sheets, pillows, blankets and additional foam mattresses are located. We have a new refrigerator, range, water heater, and RO water filtration system, with a spout at the sink, as of Feb. 2026. You will be traveling on dirt roads the last couple of miles, and after your last left turn, just past Pelican Point, the white rock road is our private road and the 10MPH speed limit must be adhered to.

Guest access
Outside, enjoy fishing off the banks of our backyard, both areas to the left and right of the jetty, the patio, and pool areas. You’ll have access to the outside cubby where umbrellas, seat cushions, and outside games, like cornhole, are located along with firepit accessories, like roasting marshmallow sticks. We also supply kindling for the fire pit, but not logs. You can use all the rooms inside the house. (Access to the garage is not permitted.)

Other things to note
In the spring of 2025, we completely replanted our grass after flooding the flooding in June of 2024. As of June 2026, sandburs are not an issue, except where the riverside grass is long. You may still encounter sandburs if you walk in the surrounding areas outside of our property. Please ensure your shoes and pets are mud and sandbur-free before entering the house. Please watch pets and children carefully near the riverside as the ground can be soft and sloping.

Neighborhood highlights

Our property is in a remote, riverfront location where you can watch and/or participate in activity on the river and the only other people you might see are those who come to enjoy the river on weekends. At the state park, 1/4 mile to the South, enjoy nature walks with scenic views and possible wildlife.

We've been married since 1994, and have one daughter, one son, and one Labrador. Melanie has been volunteering for a non-profit Theatre for Children organization since 2001.
