The space
The house is a quaint arts and crafts style home with free parking in the front. For the Retreat Suite, you'll enter directly from the parking lot through the front door. You'll walk through my massage studio's waiting room and up the steps to your private suite. -Please keep in mind that massage could be in session when you arrive so please be as quiet as possible. At the top of the steps, there are two Queen bedrooms on the left (back of house for tranquility). You'll enjoy the soaker tub, in the bathroom, where I provide different salts, bubbles and toiletry items. In the front room you can lounge with a book, the smart tv, mini frig, microwave and extra sleeping space, games, snacks, etc.
NOTE: You can rent one suite or both suites. The listing for both suites is called The Master Retreat Suites. -DON'T FORGET all those add-ons like turn down service, borrowing the bikes for a ride tp our beautiful local park, rent the kayaks and we'll charter you, in Spring we'll begin offering sunset cruises or afternoon floats, on Lake Raystown. We'll offer wine and a charcuterie board for sunset cruises and a cold lunch for day floats.
Guest access
The second floor suites are accessed through the front door, which is directly off the parking area. My massage clients use this door as well. It's private to the rest of the house. The bathroom, in the Retreat Suite is completely private to this Suite.
Other things to note
The Pause is centrally located to a plethora of outdoor activities such as rappelling, hiking, kayaking, bouldering, mountain biking, boating, horseback riding, paddleboarding, etc. We're about 10 minutes from Raystown Lake, 7 minutes from Juniata College and only 40 minutes from Penn State University. We have many local restaurants, breweries, wineries, meaderies, distilleries for the foodies and adult beverage snobs. Raytown Lake and many other beautiful State Parks, lakes, rivers, rails to trails, etc is what sets us apart!

~If you'd like us to do your shopping and have your room stocked with your choice favorites and necessities, please let us know at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date. $25
~Do you need us to make you dinner reservations? We've got you.
~Our "Turn Down Service" includes you returning to your room after a day out or some therapeutic bodywork, offered right here at our location, to a dimly lit room with ambient music playing low, candles on, drapes pulled and a touch of lavender in the air. We remove the extra pillows, fluff your sleeping pillows and pull the blankets back. Your robe and slippers will be waiting.
We'll have a cup of night time tea ready for you to add the hot water and honey. We'll lay out an eye mask, just in case you need it. $20/night
If you'd like to add a nightcap, $30
~Remember?... We're pet-friendly. While you're out and about, we meticulously follow any directives you give us regarding your "furry loved one(s)". We walk your dog every few hours and share a pic here and there. You can go about your day/evening and know your pet(s) are in good hands. Please bring a dog carrier, if your dogs are used to being crated. $25/day with a $200 ceiling
~An exquisite breakfast is included on the weekends from 7-9. Tina, my Wife and other Host will send you a copy of our menu as you correspond back and forth, planning your perfect stay. This will give you time to share it with your party and decide what you want the first morning with us. After arriving, we ask that once you've settled in some, to please get the rest of your party's menus, throughout the remainder of your stay, to us by filling them out and sliding them under or kitchen door. We're happy to deliver your breakfast to your suite/studio, serve it in the dining room or on the patio. You can purchase breakfast through the week for $15/person.
~I offer a plethora of spa choices from my massage business (Roots & Branches Massage) that you can take full advantage of. Feel free to search my business online, as hosts are not permitted to share links here. Book your session(s) with me directly through correspondence here on Airbnb and not via my website. I bring over 20 years of experience to the "table". Pricing and service menu is on my website.
~Sunset Cruise! Yes... We'll host you and your party on our pontoon boat on Raystown Lake. Enjoy a beautiful float three, or so, hours before the sun slips off to sleep. We provide a gourmet cheese platter or charcuterie board and wine/champaign. $300/couple and $20/per each extra person.
~Picnic Cruise! Enjoy a leisurely late-morning/afternoon float on the lake. Get some sun, fish, swim.... We provide a picnic lunch for you to enjoy. $300/couple and $20/per each extra person.
~S'Mores & Stars: We arrange rocking chairs with blankets around the fire ring. We get the fire ready and set out all the fixings for s'mores. The stars are up to Mama Nature. $25
~Kayaking! We have two kayaks that you can rent. We shuttle you to and from your little adventure! If you need more kayaks than two, we have a local outfitter where you can rent a few more. $50
If you give us plenty of time, prior to your stay, we can have the extra kayaks here, on the property for you to use. We'll return them after your use. $75 plus the cost to rent the kayaks.
