Welcome to The Lost Sierra Lodge, thoughtfully designed to support groups of ten with complete seating, dining space, cookware, game rooms, a fire pit, and a large hot tub. We are centrally located just 10 minutes from Portola and Graeagle, close to world class golf, stunning wedding venues, breweries, and local favorites (Guidebook). The Lodge is perfect for unforgettable group getaways, and our family, here since the late 1800s, is happy to share tips to help you experience the Lost Sierra.
The space
When you enter The Lost Sierra Lodge, the home opens up around you, revealing warm gathering spaces, natural light, and room for everyone to settle in. Some guests gravitate to the pool hall, others to the great room or deck, but the entire lodge is designed to make it easy for groups to relax, connect, and enjoy their time in the mountains.

A spacious open layout brings everyone together.
Relax on the sectional and enjoy the 75 inch smart TV with guest mode, or curl up by the wood stove. Multiple charging stations with USB A, USB C, and outlets are positioned throughout the room for convenience. A guitar sits ready for guests who want to play, and a piano restoration is currently in progress.

Our Story and Local Connections
This home is more than a rental. Built by my parents in the late 1980s, it remains a family property that we care for deeply. Renting it seasonally helps us preserve a place that has been part of our family for generations.
Our roots in the Lost Sierra date back to the 1800s, and we have deep connections throughout the community. We love sharing the best of Portola and Graeagle, from local food and breweries to hiking trails, scenic parks, golf courses, and optional in-home services such as yoga, bartending, and catering.
To make planning easy, we provide a digital guidebook with all our favorite recommendations as soon as you book, which may be the most detailed and thoughtfully curated guide to Portola and Graeagle in the area.
Guest access
The home is located 0.2 miles up a sedan-accessible dirt road. Please drive slowly and respect the quiet mountain neighborhood.
All living spaces are available for your enjoyment during your stay, except for two locked closets dedicated to our housekeeping team. The following areas are not accessible to guests: the attached garage (no indoor parking), the detached shop across the property, the attic, the basement, and the pumphouse. These areas are used for owner storage and housekeeping supplies.
Other things to note
Dog Policy
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior approval.
A fee of $50 per dog per stay applies, as shown in the listing.
All dogs must be included in your reservation so the home can be prepared properly.
If evidence of an undisclosed animal is found, the host may request reimbursement for the documented costs of additional cleaning or damages through Airbnb’s Resolution Center.
This helps us protect our cleaners, future guests, and the quality of the home.
Winter Travel and Snow Removal
This is a true mountain property, and winter weather is part of the experience. From November through April, guests should be prepared for snow and changing conditions. Depending on the weather, 4WD or AWD with snow tires and/or chains may be required.
Our standard Airbnb cancellation policy applies, and refunds are not provided for weather, snow depth, or road conditions.
We make a reasonable effort to keep the driveway and access road cleared as accumulation builds, but snow removal is not a guaranteed amenity. Conditions may vary during storms and delays are possible.
Shovels are provided for walkways, decks, and light snowfall. Guests are responsible for preparing appropriately for mountain conditions and using caution and proper footwear when moving around the property. Most guests have no issues at all, but preparation is important during winter months.
Security Cameras
For guest safety and property protection, there are two exterior cameras on site. One is located above the front door and the other faces the driveway and parking area. Cameras record exterior entry areas only. There are no cameras inside the home or in any private spaces. Footage may be used to verify occupancy limits, pet policies, and house rules.
Cleaning
A standard cleaning fee of $250 applies to all reservations.
For stays longer than eight nights, a required mid-stay cleaning will be scheduled on the ninth day ($250). This maintains the home and ensures it remains in good condition for longer reservations. It is not a daily housekeeping service.
RV Hookup
RV parking is permitted with prior approval. RVs may not be used to increase guest occupancy.
A hookup is available for $50 per night when arranged in advance. This fee will be requested through Airbnb’s Resolution Center after booking.
Early Check-In or Late Check-Out
We’re happy to offer early check-in or late check-out when we can. Because of the size of the home and the time required for a full turnover, approving this often limits our ability to accommodate a reservation the night before or after. In some cases, such as when we have a same-day arrival or departure, an expedited turnover may be available as a $100 upgrade, but this can’t be confirmed until closer to your stay. Availability depends on our cleaning schedule and adjacent bookings, and when possible, we’re happy to accommodate these requests.
