The space
Perched atop Wallace Mountain in Ellijay, GA, The Little Dipper is a romantic studio cabin designed for slow summer mornings and quiet nights beneath the stars. Surrounded by forest and set on four private wooded acres, it’s a peaceful treetop hideaway where you can open the windows to fresh mountain air, wander down to the creek, and let the rhythm of the mountains slow everything down.

Vaulted bedroom windows and soaring cathedral ceilings frame tranquil forest views by day. After a day exploring waterfalls, hiking nearby trails, or visiting Ellijay and Blue Ridge, sink into the king bed and unwind as the woods grow still around you.

A short trail leads down to Tickanetley Creek, where you can walk beside the water or simply sit and listen to it move through the forest. Evenings return naturally to firelight - indoors beside the wood-burning fireplace or outside under dark skies filled with stars and glowing fireflies.

Whether you're sipping coffee on the porch, exploring the mountains, or ending the night beneath a sky full of stars, The Little Dipper invites you to slow down and savor summer in the North Georgia mountains.

Other things to note
DOGS: Dogs are WELCOME! We love our fur babies, but this property allows a maximum of two dogs and the fee covers the entire stayper stay. Please, clean paws only in the house and keep dogs off furniture. If you would like to snuggle with your dog on the couch, please bring a blanket to lay on the furniture. The pet policy is strictly enforced and an additional cleaning fee may be applied for excessive shedding.

DRIVING: Last 0.5 miles of road to cabin is unpaved and bumpy at times, very low riding vehicles are NOT recommended, 4 wheel drive preferred, 2 wheel front drive ok, large oversized vehicles are NOT a good idea.

STAIRS: The ladder style staircase is a fun “camping” experience but may not be suitable for everyone. Not ADA compliant, caution is required when using them. Sleeper sofa is available to sleep on downstairs.

CELL SERVICE: You will lose cell service approximately 15 minutes away from the cabin (based on carrier) with some random spots along the way. You can log into WiFi once in the cabins and enable WiFi calling and send/receive text messages and emails. Highly recommend printing driving directions to and from the cabin.

LOFTED BEDROOM: There are no walls or doors that separate the lofted sleeping area from the living space on the main floor. This cabin would not be suitable for guests who would like privacy in sleeping quarters. Would be ideal for a small family with kids older than 5 years old.

VRBO/DIRECT GUESTS: You will be required to complete a basic guest verification process and select either a $35 damage waiver (non-refundable) or $500 refundable security deposit with a $15 processing fee before your reservation is complete. Any cancellations or refunds will be charged a 4% processing fee as we are charged 4% by the credit card processor to collect payment.

The CampAway is approximately 4 acres and houses two 1/bed 1/bath cabins - The Big Dipper Cabin and The Little Dipper Cabin. The cabins are connected via gravel driveways or hiking trails and are approximately 60 yards apart and separated by elevation and trees. Guests of both cabins have access to the Vandergriff Creek via hiking trails. The hike down to the creek from the cabins takes approximately 10-15 minutes via dirt and rock trails and should be a moderate hike for most children and adults. These are true hiking trails and may not be suitable for everyone. Being true mountain cabins, pests and bugs may sometimes make their way into the cabin even though we do spray and inspect monthly to keep them outside.

Neighborhood highlights

The secluded 4-acre property is equidistance (30 minutes) between the small towns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay where you will find a number of things to do year round! Plentiful walking/biking trails, waterfalls, tubing, and white water rafting, quaint shops and downtown eateries, multiple vineyards, and local arts & crafts. Festivals are held year-round and are fun for all ages. Fishing, Biking, 4-wheeling adventures await. A SUV or 4 wheel vehicle is recommended, but not required. The road up to the cabin can be difficult in heavy rain or snow/ice. The drive up is definitely worth the humps & bumps when you get here! Plan ahead and stop at one of the food/supply stores on your way in, as it is about 20-25 minutes from the cabin once there. Walmart & grocery/fast food stores are plentiful in either Ellijay to the south or Blue Ridge to the north.

My work: Home Staging and Redesign - Clever Girl Interiors
My family and I love to travel and have been using Airbnb since 2015! I love the concept and have had so much fun exploring places and living like a "local" when staying at an Airbnb. We love hosting guests at our two cute cabins in Ellijay and giving them that great local experience. My husband Joe is from New Hampshire and I am from Texas. We met in Georgia (through OK Cupid) and the rest is history. He is a chef and loves good food and I do home staging and interior redesign and love pretty things! When we are not eating or decorating we like to travel with the kids, hang out by the pool (or some body of water) or play with our four animals - Ruby (dog), Oreo (cat), Cole (cat) and Bob (bunny). We look forward to meeting you and sharing a cool travel experience!
