Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Take a step back to a life less hurried. Travel to the backwoods on uneven gravel & dirt to arrive at this tiny home. 400 sq ft cabin overlooks 2 trout creeks plus a mountain ridge view! No WiFi-enjoy reconnecting with each other! 2 mi from paved road w/shallow potholes & rocks. 5" clearance (not 4WD) needed. NOT suitable for motorcycles. Venomous snakes and wild animals are indigenous to our area. Use ONLY our directions and you'll enjoy the adventure getting here!

The space
Logging days of the past used these creeks to harvest timber. The creek is filled with boulders offering lots of white noise and small waterfalls that can be seen and heard throughout. Home to wild brook trout or hatchery supported downstream.

Country decor with logging history is displayed in the well-equipped 400 square foot home. It has everything you need for a solo traveler or a couple. Explore the many nature sites nearby or let the rushing creek be medicine to your soul.

BBQ on the gas grill or just relax on the deck or large covered porch. Walk your own private trail that leads to the creekside deck for a closer view of two creeks converging to one.

The Nantahala National Forest is our backyard and playground. Bring your outdoor gear for adventure right outside your door.

Guest access

Neighborhood highlights

We love our backwoods neighborhood in the Nantahala Forest - remote, gravel, dirt, imperfect old logging road offers peace and quiet surrounded by nature's beauty. If you like outdoor activities there are many miles to hike, ride your ATV, fish, or hunt. Renew your senses with cool mountain breezes, plants and flowers blooming in the forest and the music of rushing water for miles. Or take in the grand vistas of the mountains nearby. The stress of civilization starts to fall away as you experience our Appalachian "Eden" by the creek.

My work: Hosting great guests
Speaks English
We're Doug and Alice, from IL. We retired and moved to the backwoods into our own tiny house. We enjoy the slower paced life in the backwoods! My handy hubby built the little cabin attached to our residence's back deck to host our many visitors. It's been such a great experience that we purchased the adjoining property, remodeled the 400 sq ft cabin, cleared the view and named it "The Junction". We’d love to share either cabin with you-you won't find a prettier creek!
