From The Joneses, a mid century style home originally built by Mr L Jones and reimagined in 2023 to become a luxurious escape for couples or solo travellers, you will have uninterrupted views of the azure waters of Adventure Bay and across to Penguin Island and Fluted Cape.
The space
Whilst maintaining its “Beachcomber” style of architecture on the exterior, The Joneses interiors have been reinvigorated and redesigned to provide a sense of luxury in line with modern day living. However, we have maintained its original ethos, that being a place to escape the ordinary, to reconnect with your surroundings and each other and to remind yourself of simple joys and slower ways of living.
Be lulled to sleep by the sound of waves crashing 30m from your king size, linen wrapped bed. Or stare through the picture windows and watch beautiful sunrises or moonbeams light up the bay.
Watch the light shift and the ocean change colour on an hourly basis from our spacious and comfy lounge, or choose a Netflix movie to snuggle up and watch on The Frame TV.
Take a dip in the crystal clear waters across the road and rinse off in one of our two luxuriously appointed bathrooms. One is conveniently located on the ground floor for sandy bodies and the other is a mere step from your bed. Your ensuite bathroom has a huge walk in wet area with double shower rails, a custom Oak vanity, spacious dressing area, soft LED lighting and feature Citta pendants. There are also seperate powder rooms on both levels for your convenience.
Once refreshed and rejuvenated from your swim or walk, you can choose to cook some local fare that Bruny is renowned for, in our generously sized kitchen and seperate Butlers pantry. We provide Smeg appliances to enjoy all manner of teas and coffees, basic pantry staples such as oil, herbs, spices and some treats for you to enjoy. We also have a cracker of an Everdure bbq on the deck, complete with a view!
If the weather has been diverse, we also have a fully equipped laundry for you to use, complete with “Dirt” brand eco products for your convenience.
Outside, our professionally designed and planted garden and fire pit area has been crafted with care, both to attract some of the 96 species of birds that Bruny provides shelter to, along with native insects and bees that are so important to life. And of course for you to enjoy! Wander around and enjoy grasses blowing, swing in the hanging chair and read, or sit by the fire pit and gaze at the star filled velvet night sky. You may even see an Aurora!

Other things to note
The Joneses is a dual level home with an open tread staircase, therefore unsuitable for those with physical or mobility impairments. This also makes it highly unsuitable for those with toddlers, babies or fur babies of any kind.
We respectfully request you give yourself permission to share and enjoy the space for two adults ONLY.
Please also be aware that whilst our bountiful island produces amazing food, it’s best to be prepared for longer stays and grab your yummy treats from Hobart, Kingston, or Snug before you catch the ferry.
