Completed in 2020, The Haven is a modern, stylish and clean coastal cottage, designed for travellers seeking high‑quality, self‑contained accommodation that feels like home. Light, fresh and beautifully appointed, this private holiday rental offers comfort, privacy and thoughtful extras to make your stay truly relaxing.

Perfect for couples, families or friends travelling together, the cottage features two spacious bedrooms, each with its own private ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms are separated by the air‑conditioned open‑plan living and kitchen area, providing excellent separation and privacy for guests. Quality bed linen and bath towels are supplied — just bring your own beach towels. A comfortable sofa bed converts into a third queen‑sized bed, accommodating additional guests with ease.

Travelling with children? We’ve made it easy with a portacot, high chair and baby change mat provided, making The Haven an ideal family‑friendly holiday cottage.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for self‑catering holidays, including a large fridge/freezer, full‑size oven and cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and complete cookware and utensils. Enjoy relaxed outdoor living in the alfresco area, featuring a Weber Family Q BBQ and comfortable daybed — perfect for long lunches or sunset dinners.

Start your stay with fresh milk in the fridge, plus essential pantry staples including tea, coffee and sugar. Coffee lovers will appreciate the Sunbeam coffee machine and grinder, coffee plunger and generous supply of quality coffee beans — ideal for café‑style coffee at home. A NutriBullet blender is available for smoothies, and a SodaStream is provided (just bring your favourite syrups).

For days out exploring nearby beaches and bays, we supply a cane picnic basket with plates, cutlery and wine glasses, as well as a cooler bag, picnic blanket and thermos. It’s the perfect setup for enjoying fresh seafood, oysters and wine in stunning coastal locations.

Enjoy unlimited Starlink Wi‑Fi, ideal for streaming or remote work. Relax with Netflix on the Smart TV, or curl up on the sofa and unwind after a day at the beach. You can also play your favourite music on the Bose Bluetooth speaker.

The Haven is located on our private 1‑hectare rural property, and guests are welcome to access and enjoy all grassed areas surrounding the cottage.

There is ample off‑street parking available for cars, boats and trailers, located on and alongside the sealed driveway.

The property also offers plenty of space to safely turn around, allowing guests to enter and exit the property with ease.

Other things to note
The Haven @Arakoon is designed as a peaceful holiday retreat, ideal for guests seeking rest, privacy and quiet enjoyment. It is not suitable for parties or events.

Set within a rural environment, guests may experience natural surroundings such as wildlife, insects and the gentle sounds of country living — all part of the relaxed setting.

The cottage is supplied with rainwater (tank water), which is safe for drinking. We kindly ask guests to be mindful of water use, particularly during dry periods, so everyone can continue to enjoy a comfortable stay.

The property operates on a septic system. To ensure it functions properly, only toilet paper should be flushed — no wet wipes, sanitary items or other products.

Unlimited Starlink Wi‑Fi is provided, offering fast and reliable connectivity suitable for streaming, browsing and remote work, even in our rural location.

A complimentary Level 2 EV charger is available for guest use exclusively whilst staying at the cottage.

From time to time, routine property maintenance may occur. We aim to minimise any disruption and will schedule this while guests are out enjoying the local area wherever possible.

We are blessed with an idyllic location on the edge of the Hat Head National Park and 3 km from Arakoon National Park.

A drive of less than 10 minutes will take you to Horseshoe Bay, Front Beach, Trial Bay, Little Bay, Gap Beach, North Smoky Beach and South Smoky Beach. You can also call into Back Creek and the Macleay River entrance along the way.

We love to travel and have travelled extensively in Australia. We have also enjoyed visiting other countries and exploring different cultures. We’re both easy going and pride ourselves on leaving your property as tidy as we found it! We have lived in Arakoon for years and are happy to share our knowledge of the local area. We like to spend our weekends exploring the local waterways and South West Rocks with beautiful beaches and bays, as well as a pristine creek and river.
