The Grove Cottage, a wonderful 19th Century Farmhouse, has been in my family since 1895.
The house is just outside the beautiful town of Killarney and a stones throw from the Killarney National Park - a great base for hiking, cycling, fishing, and other adventures.
Guests love its country feel even though it's so close to town.

The space
The Grove Cottage is on the Ballycasheen Road on to the River Flesk.
The house is just one mile outside Killarney town and only a short drive from the world famous National Park and the lakes of Killarney. It's a great base to explore not only all Killarney has to offer but also The Dingle Peninsula, The Beara Peninsula and of course The Ring of Kerry.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, including a microwave, oven,hob, full fridge freezer and a Nespresso machine, coffee capsules are supplied along with tea, herbal teas, hot chocolate, oils and a selection of spices.
The cosy sitting room has three armchairs, a three seater couch and a couple of foot stools so after a long day hiking or exploring you can come home to put your feet up in front of the toasty wood burning stove - while enjoying a good book or a game of chess :).
Timber, starters and firelighters are all supplied.
The bathroom downstairs has a thermostatic shower, sink, toilet, hairdryer, hairstraightener, some toiletries are also provided (shampoo, conditioner, shower wash, hand wash) and plenty of fresh towels.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one double bed, one king-size bed and one single * please be advised that the single is attached to the king bedroom so it is ideal when travelling with a baby or toddler. A travel cot and mattress are also available.
The upstairs bathroom has a thermostatic shower, bath, sink and toilet (***please note the bath is temporarily out of commission)
There is a utility shed beside the house, with a washing machine (washing detergent supplied) and dryer. Also very handy if you are doing any Adventure Races or outdoor activities as there is space for guests to use this for bike/equipment storage etc.
All utilities are included in the room rate.
