At The Fernweh House, you'll discover a serene riverside retreat with modern Scandinavian design. As you enter, the open great room concept combines your living, dining, and kitchen areas under a soaring 26-foot ceiling, emphasized by massive floor-to-ceiling windows. These windows flood the space with natural light, blurring the line between indoors and lush outdoors. Sleek, minimalist decor complements the surroundings, creating an ideal environment for you to unwind and connect with nature.

The space
Nestled on a scenic 1.8-acre property with exclusive riverside access to the beautiful Oconto River, The Fernweh House offers you a tranquil and private retreat. Your journey to the house begins with a serene drive down a long, gravel driveway flanked by beautiful oak trees, leading you to a stunning reveal. As you turn the corner, the landscape opens up to showcase an incredible black steel home, offering a striking contrast against the lush natural backdrop. This dramatic first glimpse sets the tone for your stay, filled with style, comfort, and tranquility in a beautifully secluded setting.

Guest access
For guest convenience, access to The Fernweh House is granted via a code for the front door, allowing you to come and go as you please. Please note that the door is designed to ensure your safety and security by automatically locking after 10 minutes. This feature provides peace of mind during your stay, allowing you to enjoy the serene surroundings worry-free.

At The Fernweh House, you will experience a thoughtful blend of modern convenience and relaxed luxury. As a fully integrated smart home, you can control every light and music setting from a single device in the kitchen, making it easy to tailor the mood to whatever the moment calls for. Set a soft glow with smooth jazz for a cozy dinner, or lean into a calming under the sea theme with blue lighting and ocean sounds for a slower evening in. For deeper relaxation, the home also features a state of the art infrared sauna, a favorite spot to unwind and recharge.

Your stay includes two dedicated bedrooms with king sized beds, plus an office with a queen sized pull out couch, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The house is equipped with high speed fiber internet with plenty of bandwidth for streaming, video calls, and remote work.

Outside, you will find a riverside fire pit with a built in cooking grate, perfect for wood fire or charcoal cooking. It is an easy way to slow the evening down, cook a simple meal over the fire, or gather around with a drink as the sun goes down.

The outdoor wood fired hot tub is available seasonally from mid April through mid November. During the colder months, the hot tub is closed to prevent freezing and to ensure fresh, clean water for every guest when it is in operation. We recommend planning sauna time during winter stays for a similar relaxing experience.
