We want you to feel at home in our cozy cabin, which is professionally cleaned for your comfort and convenience. We don’t charge you anything for this, and we trust you to treat our place with care and respect. (Just a friendly reminder that if the cabin is left in a very dirty state with trash everywhere, we will have to charge you extra cleaning fees and will send you an invoice from our cleaner.)

About the Cabin
We have a Blue Ridge address; the property itself is on Cherry Log mountain - a 12 min drive from downtown Blue Ridge.
Our cabin - On the Rocks is perched on the edge of a rocky cliff surrounded by wooded forest and seasonal mountain view. It is not a safe place for small children to roam around unsupervised. You can cozy up by the wood burning fireplace (only in winter- Oct to April) or the firepit in the back yard (down 20 steps), explore the trail surrounded by mountain laurels and other wildflowers (don’t forget to grab a coffee and sit at the table we made from a fallen tree along the way) to the old railway tracks for a perfect Insta-photo opportunity. Follow the stream on your way back and you will end up at the driveway - do stop and enjoy the Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurels on your way back (during bloom season)
Bring your hiking boots and a water bottle and hit the Benton- MacKaye trail, a major branch of the Appalachian Trail.
Relax in the evening in the basement and enjoy the Hot Tub that is always set at 100 degrees in a well-lit porch or sit by the fire pit (firewood included) and toast some marshmallows over the fire.
We provide starter supplies of most amenities (toiletries, dishwashing pods clothes detergent, toilet paper, trash can liners etc.) but they will not be replenished during your stay. We supply all towels, bedding, linen etc.
You may find some food items in the pantry as we often use the Cabin ourselves. You are welcome to use them if you wish, but please finish or discard any leftover perishable items that you use. Please do not leave opened sauce bottles in the pantry. Always check the label for your allergies. We are not responsible for any illness/adverse reactions that could occur related to any specific food.
Roads up here
We want you to enjoy your stay at our Cabin, but we also want you to be aware of the road conditions. The last mile to our Cabin is a gravel and unpaved road that can be a bit tricky to drive on. If you are used to driving in the mountains, you should have no problem. But if you are more comfortable on paved roads, you may find it challenging especially when it rains or snows. The HOA does its best to maintain the road, but sometimes there are holes and ruts. We suggest using a high clearance AWD / 4WD SUV for a smoother and safer ride. Once you're up here, you will feel fully secluded and settled into your romantic getaway!
Attention all Jeep 4Xe (and other Hybrid/ Electric vehicle) owners!
A Stage-2 charger, 40 AMP (Grizzl-e) is available for you to use free of charge. Charger is located right next to the stairs that go up the porch next to the outdoor faucet on the Cabin wall.
Note: The charger only has J1772 plug (Does NOT fit Tesla, feel free to bring your own adaptor for Tesla, but do ensure if you are pulling max 40 AMP). Owner is not responsible any damage to your vehicle due to proper or improper use of the charger.
Guest access
You will have access to the whole Cabin including the lower level apart from one closet in the second bedroom and the crawl space.
You will use a smart lock to unlock both the main floor and the basement. The lock codes are valid for the duration of your stay.
Other things to note
- Wild animals and inclement weather
We appreciate your understanding that our location in the woods (and mountains) may bring some challenges like bugs, bears, deer, snakes, other wild animals and bad weather from time to time. Please kindly adhere to safety protocols and be prepared for some unexpected events due to inclement weather (such as short power outages etc.). DO NOT leave any food items outside - Black Bears do visit this mountain quite often.
- Bugs and insects
You will enjoy living in the nature in the middle of a wooded forest. We do our best to keep the cabin free of pests and bugs with professional treatment, but sometimes they may still enter. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but please note that this is beyond our control, and we cannot offer any refunds due to this or any other natural calamity / disasters/ inconvenience that is outside our control.
- Wood burning fireplace inside the cabin is for winter use only (Oct - Apr).
- No pets, including ESA (Emotional Support Animal). $500 per pet fees apply for any pets that are brought in the property.
- No smoking of any kind including vape/e-cigarettes/ heat-not-burn tobacco products inside the Cabin. $250 extra cleaning fees to remove odors and stains may be applied.
- Potential for noise
The highway that brings you to the cabin is close by, sound travel far in mountains. Please note there is a potential for noise from cars driving and this is outside of our control. No refunds are provided due to this.
- Check-in/ check-out times
Please respect our check-in and check-out times. We sometimes accommodate early check-in or late check-out, but it is not guaranteed. If you stay past the check-out time without prior agreement, you will incur a charge of at least $50 per hour. This is to ensure that our housekeeping team has enough time to clean and sanitize the cabin properly for the next guest.
- Hot tub
Enjoy our hot tub for up to 3 guests who are 18 years or older. Please keep alcohol and glassware away from the hot tub area. Do not use the hot tub if you are pregnant or have been drinking. You are responsible for your own safety when using the hot tub. The hot tub is drained, cleaned, and refilled before every stay, so it may take some time to heat up. Please adjust the temperature to your liking when you arrive!
- Lost and left behind items
Please take care of your personal belongings. We cannot help you retrieve any items that you forget or lost during your stay. This policy is non-negotiable.
- Trash policy
All trash is to be bagged up and to be disposed in the bear proof garbage bin in the parking area. Trash collection is on Monday.
- Security Camera onsite
There is 1 (one) Ring Floodlight Camera on the side of the Cabin looking at the driveway mounted high up. Nothing is looking inside. The Camera records on motion (both audio and video) and keeps recording for 120 seconds. The camera also takes still pictures every 30 seconds.
The motion sensing light above the main door is NOT a camera. It's there so that you can conveniently see the number lock at night.
