Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams.

The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway.

One of the Cabin's best assets is its large picture window looking out over the Iowa River. It is truly a nature lovers paradise as there are often Bald Eagle soaring above, cardinals arrive at the feeder daily, deer wander the premise in hopes of finding a snack in the orchard. Lilac bushes nearby provide a heavenly scent while sitting on the front porch or sneaking away to sit on the dock just below the cabin.
The cabin is only a short drive to the main part of town (about 5 minutes) where adorable country stores welcome you in with their authentic charm.
Take a ride on the Scenic City Empress with one of our FREE guest passes included in the booking. This riverboat history tour up the Iowa River is a favorite of ours! If you are here for The 4th of July be sure to make a booking as it fills up fast!

We do allow pets with a $50 pet fee. All pets must be disclosed. We allow 2 small dogs or one large dog, if you have other circumstances please reach out to us before booking. Thank you!
