Welcome to the Abernathy NC. This home sits off the beaten path, the perfect place to relax and listen to the beautiful sounds of nature. Enjoy many nearby outdoor activities such as rafting, hiking, fishing, and gemstone mining. The home was built in the 1900's and has recently been updated while still keeping some of the original charm. Eat out or cook in with a kitchen that's fully equipped. We'll provide some essentials such as coffee, sugar, creamer, and spices for cooking.

The space
This is a 2 bedroom/2 bath home. It has an additional area with a desk and a pull out couch. A double size mattress is available for additional guest. Washer and dryer is accessible in the bathroom. TV and internet will be provided.

Other things to note
Guests should shop for their own groceries, beverages, etc., BEFORE arriving since the closest "real" grocery store is the Walmart store about 7 miles away in Spruce Pine or Ingles in Burnsville.

A diffuser is available if you would like to bring essential oils.

The home has easy access from parking lot to inside. For those with disabilities, there are 3 steps leading from the living room to the bedrooms. (See picture)

Neighborhood highlights

We live on a farm nearby. We have fresh farm eggs and grow vegetables and fruits. Guest will be provided something from the farm at each stay. We are close to several gem mining attractions and if you like geocaching there are hundreds nearby. This area has plenty of places to picnic, fish, and hike.

I love living in the mountains! One of my favorite past times is sitting on the porch listening to the birds. I’m involved with my local church and my faith is very important! Some of my hobbies are crocheting, crafts, sewing, cooking, and camping. I have four wonderful grandchildren! My goal is to share our home in the mountains so you can experience nature and the beautiful scenery Western North Carolina has to offer.
