Neighborhood highlights

The market town of Tregaron, home of the National Eisteddfod 2022, on the western edge of the Cambrian Mountains is a gateway to many sites of natural and historic importance in West Wales. All roads lead to the market square which is surrounded by characterful buildings including the 13th-century Talbot Hotel, an old drovers’ inn, which supposedly has an elephant buried in its grounds.
The popular Welsh Gold Centre, where the world-famous Rhiannon jewellery is made, includes a Welsh craft shop, gallery and tearoom.
In the town square, a statue commemorates Henry Richard the MP for Merthyr Tydfil who was a founder and first secretary of the League of Nations, fore-runner to the modern United Nations.
The Kite Centre and Museum just out of the square on the road to Llanddewi Brefi, has information on Red Kites and other birds of the area, local history, costume, Cors Caron and a reconstructed Victorian school room.
We are situated opposite Caron Stores, a friendly local shop serving a variety of local produce and home made treats. There is also a Spar grocery shop with Post Office and cash machine in the town square just a two minute walk away, here you will also find a selection of local shops including a wonderful bakery and patisserie with a cafe, a traditional local butchers shop, a fish and chip shop and a fantastic Chinese takeaway that is always a favourite with guests, or for finer dining visit Y Talbolt in the market square or The Hungry Ram in Penuch just a 15 min drive away.

Lives in Tregaron, United Kingdom
I moved to Tregaron with my wife Julie in April 2019. We have spent most of the time since working on our beautiful Edwardian house and it's outbuildings. We absolutely love living in Tregaron and have found the people in this area to be so welcoming and friendly. It is so well placed for everything. We love to explore the area and see all the wonderful scenery that this part of Wales has to offer. Walking, cycling, birdwatching, mountains, beaches it really does have everything. Hopefully we will have more time this year to discover even more!
