The space
We love the Tangerine; this is my only Airbnb and I am a teacher & mom. I love Eugene and the area that the house resides because it is in a neighborhood yet it is 5 doors down (less than a block!) from Blair Blvd and all the awesome shops, food, and breweries on it.

Tangerine is the back half unit of the house (totally separate) and you enter through your own gate and side yard. You do need to walk down a path in the side yard so if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to make a few trips.

The paintings hung outside were made by teenagers and me... take a selfie in front of the big one outside!

Tangerine was built in 1915. In 2023, the house was in terrible shape; the floors were partially dirt and the roof had a tarp on it. In 2024 and the beginning of 2025 we worked on the house with the help of several Eugene carpenters, plumbers, and electricians (we still have full time jobs and needed help). We left all the studs from the original house intact. The house has radiant heat on most of the tiled floors and bamboo wood floors elsewhere.

Although it is a really vibrant and busy area, it is quiet because the guesthouse is at the back of the property.

I am a light sleeper and really need good beds to sleep on. The Tangerine has a DreamCloud Pillowtop Mattress and we use bamboo sheets. I know that sleeping is important!!

The front unit of the house will also be rented on Airbnb (as the full house) but we are still decorating so only the owners or no one will be in the front unit (the units are completely separate, including their entry points).

The house is close to downtown, Autzen Stadium and U of O. There are two bikes for guests to use to travel beyond the block if they would like to not use their vehicle.

Those experiencing houselessness are a part of every city in America, including Eugene. Tangerine does have a few houseless people that are in the area. The neighborhood is surprisingly clean and has no drama, despite being centrally located. It is a safe spot due to the surrounding neighbors (we all know each other) and Eugene is a small city so not much crime (there can be theft though).

**If you have a third person that is small like a child or teenager, we have an air mattress they can use but let us know prior to coming and you won't be able to fit a dog and three people in the space; it just isn't big enough. Thanks!**

Guest access
You have your own private entry, yard (fully fenced for your pet) and guesthouse. The house has two parts, the front unit, and Tangerine, which inhabits the west yard and the back of the house. You will enter through the west gate and follow the path to the entrance. There are no shared areas between the front part of the house and the Tangerine and both units have their own fenced yards.

Other things to note
We are located 1/2 block from Blair Avenue... (and a few blocks from downtown). I believe this is one of the best locations to stay in Eugene if you don't want to drive. You are welcome to use our bikes to get to downtown, U of O or to check out the Eugene River Trail (only 4 blocks away).

if you have a small third person in your party like a child, we have an air mattress that you can use.

Where I went to school: University of Arizona & Univ of Oregon
My work: Community College
I teach Biology at Portland Community College and I love, love, love Eugene. This house was in quite bad condition when I found her. It has been a blast to learn how to renovate a house. I have a kid at University of Oregon so I have gotten to know the area and I want to move here permanently when I can.
