Welcome to our “home away from home”...
We’re beyond excited to have you! This place is very special to us, it was our very first family home and now we use it as our retreat! It’s a great spot in a middle-class neighborhood in Lusaka – nothing fancy but we have so many great memories, and we’re convinced that you will, too. We are mostly trying to be of service to missionary & traveling families, and we are open to your recommendations to make the most of your stay.

The space
The house has 3 bedrooms, one of which has a full bath. The other two rooms share a half bath and separate toilet which can also be used for guests.
There is full kitchen, dining & den, plus a laundry and garage. The yard is fenced and small patio and basketball hoop. The main and garage gates are automated.
The house has a front and back door, but we mostly use the garage to access.
You will mostly enter the house through the “Mud Room'' and into the kitchen before you access the rest of the house. If you use the front door you will enter between the Den and Dining Room.

- Water Fountain (Filtered Water): please note the entire house supply is equipped with a filtration system and the water fountain also has filters which were replaced for your visit. The water from the fountain will be safe for you to drink and is cleaner than bottled water.

Guest access
You will have full and private access to entire house. The caretaker will meet you, provide a tour and set of keys.
PLEASE NOTE that the caretaker lives on the property in separate quarters in rear of house (please see "Interaction with guests" ).
The house has a front and back door, but we mostly use the garage door to access. The garage entrance gives you access to the house through the “Mud Room'' and into the kitchen before you access the rest of the house. If you use the front door you will enter between the Den and Dining Room.
Other things to note
The House/yard is secured in a Fence with a Main Gate and additional Garage Gate; The gates are automated, and you will provided with remotes. Exterior windows and doors also have “grill gates” for security. This is common in Zambia. The exterior of the house is equipped with CCTV which can be viewed from the TV in Room 2.
The premises has a two-car garage and additional street parking. Vehicle(s) should NOT be parked on the street overnight.
It is very important to note that the Zambia electricity systems operate on 220-240 Voltage as compared to 110 voltages in the USA.
Sockets must also be switched on and off unlike the USA. Caretaker will demonstrate the sockets to you if needed. The only U.S appliances that work directly on local power are laptops and phones.
All rooms have ACs with individual remote controls and you can adjust the temperature using the Fahrenheit of Celsius).
We reserve the right to request you to purchase additional electricity units if AC.s are over utilized.
