The space
Please read to make sure this suite is suitable for you:

Located on the ground floor of the farm guest house with a patio entrance. Soft northwestern light filters through tall sash windows and French doors framing Turtleback Mountain and the goat pastures. Our rescued group of Pygmy and Pygora goats graze right up to the patio. Dark stained concrete floors against the warm detailed wood interiors of pine and farm milled fir join together to create a simple palate. It is a spacious suite with room to lounge inside while having access to the outdoors just a step away. Just open the doors and the sights and sounds of the farm and nature spill into the room. Relax outside on the patio with stunning late evening summer sunsets above Turtleback Mountain and island vistas.

This is a studio layout with a half wall between the bedroom and living area.

Full kitchen with dishwasher.

Smart TV for streaming your apps.

Best suited to 2-3 adults or a family of 4.

2 queen beds + a sofa that may be converted to a single bed.

Guest access
**Avian Flu Precautions: guests must wear disinfected "farm only" shoes on the property. We have crocs for you to borrow if needed. This is ESSENTIAL to protect our flock.

Guests are welcome to walk around non-fenced areas and in the orchard. Please adhere to signage. Children must be supervised by an adult.

There is a communal picnic area with fire pit and charcoal grill.

Guided tours are subject to availability. We do our best to accommodate tour requests, but our time is extremely limited during the busy summer season.

Other things to note
This is a working farm and your common sense is greatly appreciated! There are noises and smells commonly found on farms. Plus we are working on projects, running machinery…. And well… operating the farm.

The fun:

We grow specialty fruits and raise lots of birds for eggs. You can find our fruit and eggs at restaurants and markets on the island as well as some of the finest restaurants in Seattle. Or better yet get it directly from us during your stay on the farm. Fresh chicken, duck, and goose eggs available most of the year. Fruit usually begins the month of July, starting with peaches and plums, moving on to figs, apples, pears, quince and more!

We have lots of animals on the farm, including one of the friendliest pups, our herding and livestock guardian dog Audrey Hepburn. She loves everyone and won’t deny any belly rubs. The geese and ducks free range throughout the farm.

The serious:

As on any real farm, you may encounter dirt, uneven terrain, stuff, rocks, bird poop, squawks and the like...

We ask our guests to practice responsible tourism for the health of our farm and our islands. That means following water conservation, limiting the waste you generate from excessive packaging, plastic and single use items, composting leftovers and being respectful of your hosts and surroundings. Thank you for leaving the "on demand" lifestyle behind when you vacation here. We do not cater to this kind of tourism and do not enable it on Orcas Island.

Lodging here will be most enjoyable if you have a sincere interest in our farm and and are in concert with our policies and eco-philosophy.

Kids are welcome to enjoy the farm under adult supervision and with respect for farm rules.

The Sunset is a studio configuration. The bedroom has a half wall, the second bed is in a sleeping nook.

Please bring your own ground coffee and paper goods for the kitchen. We do not stock paper towels or single use items. Kitchen is supplied with soap and dish towels.

Water conservation is a must on Orcas Island. Our well does not produce enough in the summer and we rely on a storage tank. Please help us conserve this precious resource.

The rental fee covers trash removal of up to one kitchen size bin. See house rules.

The farm is gated and fenced to help keep our animals in and curious deer and other non-farm animals out. Gates should always remain closed.
