On Storön, you can experience tranquility, far away from the city but close to nature. Storön is a car-free island with no land connection. Here you will find Lake Vänern, which offers fantastic sunsets and swimming from both cliffs and sandy beaches. We also have a fantastic forest that offers a rich plant and animal life with both gravel road and animal trails. In winter, there are nice ice rinks for long-distance skating. The staff residence is located on a farm and every day there is the opportunity to come along and feed the animals.

The space
The service residence is directly adjacent to the large dwelling house (where we live). In the service residence you have a fully equipped kitchen along with living room with dining table, fireplace and armchairs for relaxation. There are three bedrooms divided into one bedroom with a double bed, one with a bunk bed and the other with a sofa bed. The room with a sofa bed also has a door that faces out to the west with its own terrace. There is also a large shower and toilet.

In addition to the accommodation, you also have access to the wood heated hot tub and sauna, these are heated by the guest themselves. It is also possible to use the "warehouse," which is our party room, or to book a boat taxi/charter if you want to explore any of the nearby islands, such as Fällholmarna or Brommö, or visit Djurö National Park, followed by a trip through the Vänerskärgården archipelago before stopping for dinner at a nice archipelago inn. We are also flexible with other types of arrangements if, for example, they are desired for catering of food, etc., please contact us with your requests and we will see what we can solve!


New for 2025, the accommodation has been updated with more beds (7 beds with the possibility of more in sofa bed or mattresses), larger kitchen, larger living room, new bathroom and hall!

Guest access
At Storöngården's service residence, you can move freely throughout the entire property. If you wish to go into the fields to pet the animals, we first have a walk-through so that you know what to expect for reception. Sheep, rams, chickens and rabbits are cozy animals to be close to while the big ram requires a little more respect.

Other things to note
The residence is located on an island without a land connection. Transport out here with the turbo boat Baljan and back to the mainland is included in the booking fee. If several trips to the mainland are desired during your stay, there will be an additional cost for the turbo boat. The turbo boat Baljan runs around the clock if needed during the part of the year when there is less ice. Baljan takes 12 passengers and has a captain with a certificate and a master's degree. Life jackets are available for all passengers, but not for pets.

During the period with ice, we are transported with the hovercraft Humlan, which is a covered hovercraft with room for 5 adults with luggage. If there are more of you, we will make more trips. We avoid driving Humlan in the dark, depending on the conditions. Harsh weather may mean that departures need to be adjusted.

In such an icy situation that there is a stable road along the ice, it may also be possible to ride a snowmobile or four-wheeler on the ice, something we communicate with you guests before your arrival so that you feel safe and secure.

You leave your car in the parking lot in the harbor where the tour boat Baljan picks you up. Parking is free.

Storön is and island in Vänern. The island is about 3 km long and 1 km wide. There is no fixed land connection and the island is car free. In addition to the farm, there is a 30 number holiday home on the other side of the island.

Consider the boundaries of the plot and greet you happily and happy cheers back, - islanders are always curious about strangers so a happy hello and what a nice place you live in is always welcoming.

We live with our little family in the wonderful place of Storön in Lake Vänern, where we have a small archipelago farm with sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits and cats. In addition to the domestic farm animals, there is a rich wildlife here on Storön with game such as mouflon sheep, fallow deer, red deer, and moose. We have many islets and islands around us where we like to take the family or guests for a relaxing picnic on our own rock with the grill to eat well and create memories.
