More than a holiday rental, Stone Oven House is a mountain retreat hidden in a small Alpine village in northern Italy. Rent the entire property and enjoy private access to bedrooms, apartment, gardens, terraces, sauna and creative gathering spaces spread across two hectares of forest and meadows. Ideal for families, friends, retreats and anyone looking for nature, comfort and meaningful time together.
The space
Stone Oven House is an artist-restored mountain estate located in the Italian Alps, one hour from Turin. Built around traditional stone buildings and surrounded by forests, streams and open meadows, it offers a rare combination of privacy, character and space.
When booking the entire property, guests have access to multiple private rooms, an independent apartment, outdoor terraces, gardens, barbecue areas and shared indoor spaces designed for relaxation, work and gatherings.
The estate has evolved over many years through the work of artists, designers and craftspeople. Original stone walls, handmade furniture and carefully restored architectural details coexist with modern comforts, creating a place that feels both authentic and welcoming.
The property is especially suitable for family reunions, groups of friends, creative retreats, workshops and small celebrations. Guests can spend their days hiking, reading, working remotely, enjoying the sauna, cooking together or simply relaxing among the mountains.
While peaceful and secluded, the estate is also part of an active cultural project that occasionally hosts exhibitions, concerts, workshops and artist residencies.
Guest access
Guests renting the entire property have access to all accommodation units included in the booking, as well as the gardens, terraces, outdoor dining areas, barbecue zone and more than two hectares of surrounding land.
The grounds include woodland paths, open meadows, quiet seating areas, a small pond and several panoramic viewpoints overlooking the valley and surrounding mountains. Guests are free to explore the property and enjoy a variety of spaces designed for gathering, relaxing, working remotely or spending time alone.
Additional shared spaces include the panoramic hayloft lounge, exhibition halls and selected creative spaces. Depending on availability, guests may also use studio areas for drawing, writing, painting or other personal creative projects.
A traditional wood-fired stone oven remains at the heart of the property and is occasionally used for bread, pizza and communal meals. Guests interested in experiencing the oven during their stay are welcome to ask in advance.
The sauna and outdoor hot tub are available through the Stone Oven House membership card.
Other things to note
Stone Oven House is located in a small mountain village at approximately 900 metres above sea level. The final section of road is narrow, as is common in historic Alpine villages, but it is accessible by standard cars.
The property has evolved gradually over many years and combines restored historic buildings, gardens and outdoor spaces. As a result, some areas may feel more like a lived-in mountain estate than a conventional hotel or resort.
The surrounding environment is rural and immersed in nature. Guests may encounter wildlife, insects, farm animals and changing mountain weather throughout the year.
The sauna, outdoor hot tub and certain cultural activities are managed through the Stone Oven House cultural association and may require separate arrangements.
We recommend arriving by car, as public transportation to the village is limited. However, guests can reach nearby Luserna San Giovanni by train and bus connections from Turin. We may also be able to help arrange transfers from Turin Airport, Turin city centre or Luserna San Giovanni upon request.
Please feel free to contact us before your trip if you have questions about transportation or arrival logistics.
