We encourage our guests to disconnect and unwind while staying at Stone House Farm. Once you check-in you’ll find that it's very easy to relax. With no distractions such as televisions where you’ll be able to truly enjoy the natural beauty of the smells, sounds, and sights of rural farm life. Enjoy the fire pit by the pond. Visit our raised garden beds, or stroll out to the barn or the pastures. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway.

The space
The farmhouse can accommodate a large family or two smaller families with plenty of room to spread out with a large kitchen, living room, dining room, two sitting rooms, four bedrooms, and three full bathrooms. The outside area includes raised garden beds, a barn, a pond (not for swimming), a wooded area, and sweeping pastures.

FARM STAFF AND PARTICIPANTS:
The staff that you will find cleaning the Inn, making up your room, and setting out coffee and other treats are learning how to be innkeepers. This is an active farm with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities that work daily with our livestock, agriculture, and the Inn. They take great pride in making your stay as comfortable as possible. By staying at the Inn guests increase the opportunity for inn-keepers to make interesting acquaintances, learn about new places, become more proficient at hospitality and housekeeping, and share their enthusiasm and knowledge about Stone House Farm. Our farm staff and participants work around the property and inside the Inn during the week. If you support these efforts, we'd love to have you as a guest!

HISTORY:
This renovated farmhouse was built in 1813 by Phillip Fosselman who operated a tannery on a branch of Montour's Run until 1832. In 2021, Stone House Farm was reimagined to capitalize on the centuries-old beautiful stone building and the 12-acre lot that when acquired included a pond, stream, wetland area, stone barn, woods, and a large field.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the 1st and 2nd floors of the house and outside areas. The pond is beautiful to view and filled with lots of turtles, but not for swimming purposes.

Other things to note
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY:
Unfortunately, due to the age and interior architecture, the inn is NOT handicap accessible. All guest rooms are located on the second floor via stairs.

AIR CONDITIONING:
To preserve the authenticity of our renovated farmhouse which was built in the 1800’s and the overall farm stay experience, we do not have air conditioning. We do offer portable fans during the warm seasons and heat during the cool seasons.

Red Tomato Farm & Inn and Stone Hosue Farm & Inn are projects I started to demonstrate the competencies of people with intellectual disabilities. The Inns at both farms provide training and employment and are an opportunity to meet new people, so every guest visit is important. We are not looking to be 5-star rated, but we are looking for your support. Our aim is to provide a pleasant stay.
