The space
Our family cottage sits on three and half acres in the heart of Raquette Lake. St. Hubert's Isle is comprised of a Main House, cottage and the Church of the Good Shepherd. The cottage offers a cozy bedroom with 2 single beds as well as a plush Queen Size Futon Sleeper in the living room, ensuring comfortable accommodations for your stay. The newly renovated full bathroom provides all the essentials you need. In the fully functional kitchen, you'll find everything necessary to prepare meals. The cottage comfortably sleeps four guests, making it an ideal retreat for a couple or small family. This property is not suitable for small children.
Please note** this is a shared family island retreat, where guests are welcome to rent to cottage and enjoy the island, though the main house may be occupied by family members. The property is only accessible by boat.
****A full departure cleaning is required by guests so there is no cleaning fee. Ample supplies are provided. Prior to departure, we ask that our renters empty the refrigerator and trashcans, wash all dishes, leave furniture and amenities where they were found upon arrival, and otherwise leave the place tidy, organized and ready for our next guests.
Guest access
Our property is shared and is only accessible by boat. Guests are welcome to rent the cottage and explore and enjoy all that our island offers. This includes the use of dock, a canoe, and kayaks. The Main House may be occupied with family members during your stay. Important Note ** Friendly Dogs are Welcome! There may be dogs staying on the property with the owners. There is not a fenced in area or designated area for pets. Consideration should be given if you are not fond of dogs or if your dog is not well-behaved around other dogs or people.
Other things to note
Please bring bottled drinking water and your own provisions. The terrain is rugged, typical of the Adirondacks. Our rentals are dedicated to the preservation of this historic 1880 site. Thank you for your support in maintaining this cherished piece of history.
Getting to Saint Hubert’s Island and Parking:
Saint Hubert’s Island is accessible only by boat, but several convenient options are available for transportation and parking. You can rent a boat or arrange a ride to the island through one of two local marinas on Route 28: Burke’s Marina or Bird’s Marina. Both marinas offer parking in their lots for customers who use their services. Alternatively, if you prefer to bring your own boat, a public parking area and hard-surface boat launch are available in the village of Raquette Lake for $10/day. This hard surface boat launch and public dock is located on Main Street/County Route 2, across the street from the Raquette Lake Supply Co. General Store. This boat launch affords easy access for all boat types. From this launch you will have access to the 99 beautiful miles of shoreline that surround the pristine Adirondack waters of Raquette Lake.
Getting there:
From Route 28 in Raquette Lake, travel northwest on County Route 2 into the Hamlet of Raquette Lake. After about a quarter mile, bear right past the Tap Room and Raquette Lake General Store; boat launch will be straight ahead.

Docking Instructions:
The boat dock is located on the south side of Saint Hubert’s Island, situated in a natural small bay between a small rock islet and a peninsula. For a safe approach, keep your boat’s trim up and proceed at trolling speed (as slow as possible). Stay closer to the peninsula, as the water near the rocky islet is shallow.
