Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
The stunning Stars and Steam Hut sits on a hillside above the Swansea Valley on a working farm with sweeping views across farmland and wildflower meadows.
It sleeps two in a king-sized bed with a private garden, a freestanding cast iron bath tub, fire pit, barbecue and patio.
The Gower Peninsular and Brecon Beacons are 35 minutes away. Waterfall country is just 25 minutes away.
The beautiful well equipped summer house has a kitchen and sitting area, shower, and WC. Wi-Fi.
Pets welcome.

The space
We have split the accommodation in to two spaces - the beautiful shepherds hut which sleeps 2 in a king size bed, and a converted summerhouse with kitchen/sitting area and shower plus toilet. The summerhouse gives the retreat a generous, unhurried feel - somewhere to cook properly, eat slowly and relax gently.

The kitchen has utensils, an air fryer, electric hob and kettle.

Outside is an enclosed private garden with stunning views of the rolling hills, wildflower meadows and countryside. An outdoor table and chairs plus fire pit (with a complementary bag of firewood) and BBQ gives you all you need for a relaxing and peaceful stay.

The centrepiece of the outdoor space is a double ended cast iron bath in which guests can relax in all weathers and at any time of the day in the outside fresh air. It is fully plumbed in and guests adjust the temperature as per a normal bath. We have dark skies at night - perfect for bathing under the stars.

There are very few places in Wales where you can sink in to steaming hot bath with bubbles in the open air with nothing but countryside and stars to see. This is one of them…. No chemicals, no germs just complementary bubble bath.

The Stars and Steam hut is situated on a 28 acre working farm which concentrates on restoring wildlife and biodiversity in general. So in the spring you will hear cuckoos and the summer brings swallows. Ravens perch nearby and skylarks can be heard on the adjacent mountain. Red kites and buzzards can also be seen as well as owls at night.

Visitors are free to walk and relax in the wildflower meadows and upland heathland. A stones throw away is the adjacent Garth mountain which is accessible by foot and the summit reveals glorious views of the Brecon Beacons to the north and the Swansea valley and the Mumbles to the south. When up there yo may even spot our small herd of Hereford and White Park cattle.

Private parking is right outside.

Guest access
Guests can use the whole area which is private.

Other things to note
The Stars and Steam hut is brilliantly located in the heart of south Wales -
To the north lies the majestic Brecon Beacons.

To the south is the Gower Peninsula which was the 1st area in the UK to be awarded as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty . Its many beautiful beaches are a must visit.

To the east lies the Neath valley with the stunning Waterfall Country - a series of waterfalls that are so good a Batman film was filmed in front of one of them. Also to the east is Margam Country park which has many activities for families and children.

To the west are several jewels - the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, the beautiful restored Aberglasney gardens, Dinefwr castle and National Trust estate as well as the picturesque Carreg Cennen castle.

If this were not enough there are also farm attractions in the area, the National of Wales, Bike Park Wales and Zip World!

But to be honest, despite an initial full itinerary, many guests just stay at the Stars and Steam Hut and relax and unwind in the tranquil surroundings of their private retreat.
