Wake up to breakfast and coffee

Included essentials make mornings extra easy.
Cradled in the foothills of the Hoddle Ranges, Gippsland, lies a cosy nook to escape and find yourself amongst soft muzzles and tussled manes.

A unique stay at our converted Dairy Farm, located in the heart of Hoddle. Just a short drive to Wilsons Promontory National Park, surrounded by magnificent beaches and vibrant local towns.

Roll down the hill to Fish Creek for an artisan vibe or Foster for markets and a cidery stop on the return journey. Come and experience the best of South Gippsland!

The space
Stable & Nook is an eclectic, cosy bungalow designed for comfort, rest and simple pleasures.

Slip into linen sheets and down quilts on cooler nights, or throw them back in summer and let the fresh country air drift through. Enjoy long, hot rainwater showers, and stay comfortable year-round with a split system and wood-look heater.

Gowns and blankets are provided so you can curl up on the butter-soft leather lounge, take in the rolling green hills, or settle in for a quiet night with Netflix and a local wine from your day out.

You’ll have your own private, self-contained space, set within a wider rural property. What many guests value most is the sense of space, fresh air, and the presence of horses as part of the landscape.

With the Great Southern Rail Trail on our doorstep, you can explore over 70kms of bike, hike or horse-riding trails.

You may also like to explore our other listing, ‘The Snug’, if you are travelling with friends.

Guest access
The bungalow is all yours to enjoy.

Please note the outdoor areas are part of a shared working property, where our horses move freely between paddocks. While we are mindful of your privacy, you may see us or the animals as part of the natural rhythm of the property.

You’re welcome to respectfully enjoy the space around you and share a quiet moment with the horses from outside the fence.

We are proudly an inclusive stay, and welcome guests of all backgrounds into a safe and respectful space.

Other things to note
We provide a basic pantry due to our rural location, including coffee capsules (Nespresso), black and herbal teas, milk (please let us know your preference prior to arrival), salt, pepper, olive oil and a selection of herbs and spices. Seasonal produce from the garden may also be available.

You are on country time here, and local shops close early, so we recommend stopping in Fish Creek or Foster to pick up anything you may need during your stay.

Your kitchenette includes a pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, BBQ (on the deck), pancake maker/toaster, bar fridge, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery and servingware. If you feel inspired by the incredible local produce, a full kitchen is available in the group space just across the driveway.

Please note:

• This is a rural property with animals, including horses.
• Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, however they must not be left unattended at the property at any time. This is for the safety of our horses and other animals.
• Pets and children must be supervised at all times around animals.
• Horses are to be interacted with from outside the paddock only, as they run as a herd and can be very curious.

Neighborhood highlights

Once a small hamlet itself, Hoddle is nestled in the heart of Prom Country, between Foster (to the East) and Fish Creek (to the West). The area is mostly Dairy & Beef country, but is becoming more diverse. Local Farmers and Craft Markets are a highlight for the area, followed by the growing number of cafes and restaurants, including Gurney's Cidery, accessible from The Great Southern Rail Trail that runs by our front gate, or a short drive toward the township of Foster.

The Coastal Hamlets of Sandy Point, Waratah and Walkerville are just a short drive away and all have wonderful (some secret) beaches.

And of course we can't forget the iconic 'Fishy Pub' just 5 minutes up the road - hike, bike, ride or a short drive into Fish Creek.

We love our horses of course, meeting new people, supporting people in their personal journeys, great food and lively conversations. We prefer privacy when travelling, comfort with a touch of luxury.
