Room in a farm stay

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
The Spooner House – your retreat in the Upper Valley. This spacious suite features a cozy fireplace, mountain views, and a private bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower. Enjoy the luxurious king-sized bed and serene ambiance.

Located just 15 minutes from Quechee, Norwich, Hanover, and Lebanon, and close to Woodstock (25 min) and Killington (39 min).

Your stay includes a self-serve breakfast with granola, yogurt, fruit, espresso drinks, and tea. You'll also have access to the guest kitchen.

The space
The Spooner House, built in the 1780s by Paul Spooner, then Lieutenant Governor of the Vermont Republic, and his wife Asenath Wright, is rich in history. Over the years, it has served as a tourist house, working dairy farm, and private residence.

The Atwater Room, named in honor of Heather Atwater who saved the building from demolition in the 1990s, is a spacious suite. Heather dedicated years to restoring the house and its outbuildings to their former glory.

This charming suite features a cozy fireplace, a private bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower, a luxurious king-sized bed, and a vintage record player for your enjoyment.

We provide all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including towels, shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

Downstairs, you'll find the shared shared guest kitchen.

The kitchen is equipped with a mini-fridge, electric cooktop and oven, toaster oven, coffee maker, and all necessary cooking and dining essentials.

Guest access
The roadside facing door is dedicated for guests to come and go. The Atwater room is located upstairs and to the right. Please note that walking up a full flight of stairs is needed to reach the room.

During your stay
We live in a separate part of the house and will be present to receive guests. The house is divided in two and guests are afforded as much privacy as they desire.

Denise and Jason love meeting and chatting with travelers from all over the world!

Other things to note
The room is located up a full flight of stairs.
