This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.
Smithy Cottage is a welcoming and traditional self-catering holiday cottage accommodating up to 4 people and set in the Deveron Valley.
Happy to accept workers.
Just a short drive from village of Aberchirder and the larger town of Huntly. It is situated in a convenient rural location ideal for exploring the area, walking, cycling or fishing and ideally located for joining the popular North East 250 route and is the perfect place to return to and relax in front of the cosy open fireplace.
The space
Our rural cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 2 singles and there is the option to add a travel cot if required. Both bedrooms are on the first floor so guests must be comfortable climbing a staircase.
You can be ensured of a warm welcome to Smithy Cottage or alternatively if you prefer a self check in is available.
The cottage is very well appointed with everything you should need for a relaxing home away from home break.
All towels and bed linen are provided at Smithy Cottage.

The kitchen is well equipped to enable you to cook during your stay if you wish or alternatively why not make use of the cool bag and storage options to pack a picnic before heading out to explore the area.

A car or other form of transport is necessary as public transport is limited. There is off road parking at the rear of the property with ample turning space.
Other things to note
STRICTLY NO SMOKING, VAPING, E CIGARETTES OR PETS PLEASE.
During the autumn and winter months (October-March) each booking will be provided with supplies for the open fire in the living room (kindling, bucket of coal and logs). Additional supplies can be purchased for a small cost from the host if they are required. Guests will be responsible for cleaning out and re-setting the fireplace after use. Instructions for this can be found in the house manual.
Emergency power failure lighting is provided under fire safety regulations. These must not be removed unless in the case of fire or emergency.
These emergency lights are inspected before each arrival and any that are missing on departure will be charge at a cost of £50 each.

Great walking and cycle routes are all around, the Castle Trail and Malt Whisky Trail on our doorstep and the coast just a 20 minute drive away. Alternatively head inland to reach some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Scotland, a popular choice for snow sports in winter. There really is something for everyone in this often overlooked corner of Scotland.
