The Birch Room sits on the edge of 25 hectares of forest in the Aveyron. No central heating. No lock. No five-star anything.
Double bed, electric blanket, woodburner on the terrace, outdoor toilet, hot outdoor shower, GR465 right past the door.
Cook in the shared kitchen (07:00-22:00) or the outdoor campsite kitchen, open year-round. A tent you don't have to pitch.
Dark nights, bright stars, seasons you feel, animals that say hello.

The space
One double bed with an electric blanket. One sofa bed with a thin camping mattress, suitable for 1–2 children.
No running water inside the room. No central heating. No lock on the door. Outside: a small private terrace and a woodburner. A bag of logs costs €10.
Shared facilities: outdoor toilet, hot outdoor shower, indoor communal kitchen (07:00–22:00), outdoor campsite kitchen (year-round). Nothing is provided beyond that — bring your own sleeping bag or duvet, and your own towels.
In winter, outdoor water can freeze and go offline for a while. Pack warm clothes and an extra layer.
Our dogs, cats and goats move around the property freely. There's also a pony, but he stays in his own enclosure. Calm pets are welcome. The GR465 passes directly by the room.
Guest access
You have private use of the Birch Room and its terrace. The outdoor toilet, hot shower and cooking facilities are shared with other guests on the property.
The 25 hectares of forest and the GR465 trail are right outside. Walk the land if you like — just remember it's a living forest, with animals, private areas and uneven paths.
Self check-in after 16:00. The room is open and ready. No keys, no formalities. Send me a short message when you arrive.
Check-out before 10:00. Close the door, take your garbage and let me know you've left.
During your stay
I live and work on the property. I run an online coaching practice, homeschool my daughter, and look after the animals — so I'm not around for constant social contact or in-person help.
If we cross paths, we might share a coffee or a conversation. If not, I'll respect your privacy and get on with my day.
We're always up for a goat walk, bookable on my platform. For practical questions, use the Airbnb app — I answer between 06:00 and 17:00, evenings can take longer. If it's a real emergency, contact me straight away.
I speak Dutch, English and French.

The animals live here. Dogs, cats and goats roam freely and may show up wherever you are on the land.
A few things worth knowing: Never feed the goats — bread and human food can hurt them, and it makes them relentless. Keep food, drinks and rubbish stored away; nothing edible left outside or in an open car. Keep your room door and the kitchen doors closed when you're not using them.
Park clear of low branches and bushes. A goat will climb onto a car if it smells food in there. Expect the animals to approach you — that's daily life here, not a show put on for guests. Only calm dogs that won't chase our animals are welcome, or keep yours on a lead the whole time.
