Our vacation rental is a peaceful refuge for the weary; a place to let all your cares melt away at the gate. Enjoy perfect tranquility as you soak in beautiful views and incredible sunsets from the covered patio or the pool. Far from city light pollution our night sky is just right for stargazing. Bring your binoculars or telescope! We are also close to Hill Country wineries, distilleries, restaurants, lakes, wedding venues, state parks, the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge & More.
The space
At 1.5 miles from the paved road, we're well off the beaten path. You'll be surrounded by working ranches filled with livestock and wildlife. It is truly a serene environment for immersing yourself in total relaxation.
Our one bedroom pool house has an open kitchen/dining/living area with a large wall mounted tv. The dining table has two leaves for expandability and the cozy kitchen with mobile island is just right for preparing amazing meals. The couch doubles as a pull out bed for extra guests if needed.
For additional indoor entertainment we have a variety of games, books, and magazines for your enjoyment. We also have area information with recommendations on great things to see and do while you're here.
The spacious bathroom includes a deep tub for a nice soak at the end of the day.
In the bedroom you'll find a luxurious king size bed, a dresser, desk, and another wi-fi connected smart tv. Behind the bedroom is a large closet that we've turned into a bunkroom with twin bunk beds for guests bringing children.
In the utility closet you'll find a full size washer and dryer available for guest use.
What you're going to love most though is the outdoor living. The large covered patio offers great shade on hot sunny days. It's a perfect place to BBQ, watch the sunset, look for wildlife, and birdwatch. For additional outdoor activities we have available for guest use bocce ball and frisbee, as well as football and soccer balls.
The swimming pool offers an excellent way to stay cool on hot summer days, or lounging poolside with a book while you work on your tan.
At night you'll be blown away as the incredible sunset gives way to a dark sky that offers views of the moon and stars not available in town due to light pollution. If you enjoy celestial events like lunar eclipses, special planetary alignments, identifying constellations, or meteor showers, you're going to love our dark sky nights!
Guest access
You'll have exclusive access to the guest house and swimming pool on approximately 1 acre of fenced in land. The owners are on site in a separate structure about 130 yards further down the road.
Other things to note
To get to our place you will drive on a gravel road across several working ranches. The road can be bumpy in places so you'll want to take it easy. In the summer it's dusty and when we get rain it's muddy. Small sedans with very low clearance may have a difficult time negotiating parts of the road.
Remember that when you're driving in on the access road you are on private property belonging to the neighbors. Do not get out of the vehicle or attempt to pet or feed livestock or wildlife.
Also, please understand that we're out in the country. Even though we use professional pest control on a regular basis, it's not abnormal to see a variety of critters including scorpions, red wasps, and the occasional tarantula or snake.
