The Sasquatch Inn is a secluded heavily wooded primitive cabin that sits on 32 acres, with some great views of the Smoky mountains. This is a hike-"Up/Down" the mtn. Hike up approximately 1/4 mile. We can also ferry your gear to and from the parking area in our Polaris General if need be but will need to make arrangements for that. The hike "is" uphill. Bring an umbrella and flashlights for your night-time hike up, and hiking shoes. The hike "up" the mountain can be slippery/muddy when raining.
The space
This is a one room cabin. There is a queen size deluxe inflatable mattress. . It is Primitive, however we do have a portable generator for charging your electronics, using the small light, fan etc. There are some "comforts of home" however this is basically an off grid cabin with some extras! You will need sleeping bags or i can provide limens for the inflatable mattress if requested. Towels provided for solar shower. Bottled water and ice provided. Also Propane is provided for the gas firepit.
Guest access
Check-in is between 3pm -6pm. If you cannot make it by 6pm, i (Bill) suggest you book elsewhere as we need to be able to communicate specific instructions before you start your hike UP.
We have 32 acres here. You will see trails around that you are more than welcome to hike and explore. If you stay on the trails you'll come out at one of our 3 driveways so you shouldn't get lost. There is another view area at the top.
The hike "is" uphill. Bring an umbrella and flashlights for your night-time hike up, and hiking shoes. The hike "up" the mountain "WILL" be slippery/muddy when raining. Check-in is at 3pm, but usually available before. We would prefer on-time or earlier check-in as we will not be available to haul your extra gear after 6pm. Also, there is wildlife in these mountains. We have recently seen a bear on our property, so be aware of your surroundings. they are in these mountains, so be on the lookout and do not leave any food outside the cabin and keep the lid on the trashcan.
Other things to note
There is no electricity at the cabin, however we do have solar lighting, a small portable generator.
