Stay surrounded by nature – seclusion and near-complete silence.
Easy access to skiing, with cross-country trails nearby. In summer: hiking, fishing and nature right outside the door.
In winter, when no cars pass – most of the time – the silence is so deep you can hear your own pulse.
Reindeer, foxes and deer sometimes pass through the property.
Older, simple standard – functional, spacious and full of character.
The space
Three bedrooms with two beds in each.
Two living rooms, both with fireplaces and sofa beds (five sleeping areas in total).
One of the living rooms has a TV and table tennis.
Spacious kitchen.
Shower and toilet.
Wifi available for normal work and light streaming. Workspace available.
Comfortably accommodates 7 guests, up to 12 if needed (then it gets crowded).
Older standard – simple but functional.
Guest access
You will have acces to the whole main building.
Other things to note
Expect peace and quiet. A road passes by the house, but traffic is very limited.
No public transport to the house. Nearest shop: about 7 km (open 24/7), about 36 km for a larger selection.

The house is called “Sågen” (The Saw), named after the old village sawmill once powered by the creek on the property.

Where you’ll be
Särna, Dalarna County, Sweden
6 km to Fjätervålens ski resort, with 18 slopes for beginners and advanced skiers. One of them approved by FIS for slalom, giant slalom and ladies' super G.
Vertical drop: 317 m
Longest run: 3,000 m
Groomed riding surface approximately 400,000 sq.m.
20 km to Idre Fjälls ski resort.
40 slopes (whereof 16 green and 9 black)
Vertical drop: 307 m
Longest run: 2,800 m
Be prepared for wilderness. During summer the rippling creek is often the only thing you hear around the house. In winter the creek freezes and the only thing you hear is your own heartbeat.
Städjan, the highest mountain of Dalecarlia, can be ascended both summer and winter (great off pist skiing for the brave).
Nipfjället is ascended from its parking lot and from the lake Stenåssjön (Harundsjön), which is a day's walk.
A lot of small lakes and rivers for fishing. Fishing card required. 500 m to the nearest fishing waters.
In Idre there is a great golf course, rated one of Sweden's most beautiful, with a really high tee, brooks, and a kåsa (a cup) hanging by the brook for your waterbrake.
Njupeskär is Sweden's highest waterfall and a highly favored outing target for children as well as adults. It requires a 1 hour car trip, but then you get a 90 m waterfall, a great wild life exhibition, a nice small restaurant and a close by elk park.
Pick your own berries in the deep forests. The local speciality are cloud berries are ready in late August. You haven't seen them this big before. Our uncle Sören finds and picks around 30 litres a year. Really.
Fjätfallet is a small waterfall closer in the woods with a possibility, for the brave and warm-blooded,
to floomride. Glide over the moss in the rapids. Be careful and have fun.
Stenåssjön is a close by lake with a beach of sand, yes it true, a beatiful view over Nipfjället. Warm summer days you can take a bath while watching the snow on Nipfjället.
