Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
2 bedroom cabin sleeps up to 6 people with a double bed in each bedroom and a double futon in the living room. Linens are provided.

Fully equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, gas range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots & pans, and utensils.

The space
The Rusty Spur is a funky, quirky, cozy 2 bedroom (non-smoking) cabin. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and on-demand hot water heater for long, hot showers. Sleeps up to 6 people *if* everyone is doubled up. While it can sleep up to 6 people, be aware that the cabin is small and fitting 6 people is a tight fit in a small space. There are 3 double beds. Bear in mind, these are not queen beds so sleeping 6 people is where it gets "cozy". 3 people would have a bed all to themselves. There are two small bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a futon in the living room folds down into another double bed. Beds are decked with 100% cotton bedding, including sheets, blankets, comforters, and quilts. Freestanding fireplace takes the chill off of cool evenings. There is also central gas forced air heat. Be aware, this is a cabin in the country surrounded by farm fields and corrals and dirt roads with a generous supply of wind to blow the dust around. Lots of people have rated this place as "sparkling clean", bless their hearts. I can dust every hour and it's still going to be dusty when I do it again. Expect dust.
Roasting marshmallows around the firepit or napping in the hammock are just some of the many ways to enjoy the laid-back ambiance of the Rusty Spur. 50 miles from Great Falls on the way to Glacier National Park. Beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains and stunning skyscapes.
Located in a peaceful, rural area with open views of the Rocky Mountain Front range to the west, the buttes, bluffs, and Big Belt Mountains to the south, and the Highwood Mountains to the east. Sitting atop the “Sunny Slope” 12 miles west of Fairfield, 50 miles WNW of Great Falls, 14 miles NE of Augusta, and 15 miles S of Choteau. A tranquil retreat with million dollar views.

**If your GPS takes you on a dirt road, you are in the wrong place! Stay on the pavement! You should be on highway 408 until you turn onto 10th Lane SW. There is 1/2 mile of gravel road to the house from the highway. That is the ONLY time you should be off the pavement.

Guest access
This is a great place to stop on the way to Glacier National Park or to set up base camp to explore the nearby Rocky Mountain Front. Close to hundreds of miles of riding and hiking trails as well as lakes, rivers, and streams for swimming, boating, and fishing. The area is also well known for upland and waterfowl hunting only a few miles from Freezeout Lake Wildlife Preserve. The Rocky Mountain Front is also prime deer and elk habitat with 2500 elk residing on the nearby Sun River Game Preserve.

Other things to note
A maximum of 6 people are allowed, including children. Children are people too so they count as # of guests. The full reservation fee will be charged for any and every unauthorized person staying in the guest house.

You must let me know if you are traveling with pets AND that you have read and agree to all of the pet rules (found under House Rules) before booking.

Children should be supervised as there are many hazards involved in country living. There is a pond a small child can fall in, electric fences, farm machinery, horses that can be unintentionally dangerous, etc. Please do not let them climb on fences or gates.

I don't charge a cleaning fee for normal cleaning. I will charge a cleaning fee for out of the ordinary cleaning like cleaning up after your pets or for unusual chores or excessive messiness. A charge of $50 per hour will be charged for out of the ordinary cleaning with a $50 minimum.

Renting out a room or guest house on one's own property is very different from taking a reservation from a chain hotel. It is much more personal and, frankly, risky. Airbnb helps mitigate that by showing a host a person's profile and reviews from other Airbnb hosts. When the profile does not contain any information, there is no photo, and no other reviews, it is impossible for a host to get any sense of who the person is they would be inviting onto their property. This largely defeats the purpose of being an Airbnb host. For this reason, I will not accept reservations from anyone who does not have a fleshed out profile, including a photo. Please expect to be scrutinized more closely if you don't already have at least 1 positive review from another Airbnb host. Thank you for your understanding.
